President Ahmedinejad is goading America to do something.He wants America to invade so he can declare that another 'Holy-War' against the 'infidels' is taking place,further uniting a disseminated 'arab alliance'.An American President has a duty to,not only protect U.S. citizens but every single country in the free world.

President Bush maybe 'trigger-happy' but I don't believe he would resort to a nuclear alternative unless the situation was so serious that it merited it.

Don't worry:In the event of a nuclear war,Bush will be down in the Presidential Nuclear Fall-Out Shelter,complete with swimming pool & rifle range.He'll be playing indoor golf with his invited ,paying guests.
Democracy will be safe;along with the American Dollar.
Similarly;Her Majesty The Queen & Royal Family,P.M.Blair,Maggie Thatcher,Sir Richard Branson etc.will be in the underground Buckingham Palace 'Royal' Fall-Out Shelter.
Equallyrime Minister Howard & Rupert Murdoch in Australia.etc.etc.

Skip, God love ya, I've got a lot of respect for you and I hope to meet you someday, but you're forcing me to defend our Mr. Bush, and you know that gives me gas.

I've checked a couple other news sites and they say Bush is considering the use of nuclear bunker buster missiles to take out underground nuclear facilities. Not planning....considering. All this means is a strike is among the possible options.

Don't get me wrong, it scares me that he'd even consider it, though it's my understanding that these particular missiles have relatively small nuclear warheads, designed to completely annihilate the underground complex it hits. It's not as if Tehran is about to go up in a mushroom cloud. Yes the use of nukes of any size could destabilize the entire middle east and plunge us into all-out war, but it sounds more like a bluff in order to get Iran to capitulate.

Calm down everyone, the sky isn't falling yet. Let's follow this story as it develops.

Well... these particualr missles can hold any size warhead...including America's largest "megatons". They are using an older design that has been modified, in order to not break certain treaties. Considering that most of the programs are hidden in bunkers beneath populated areas...especially the main site.... alot of Iran would go up in smoke.

The fall out alone is unimaginable. Especially with multiple strikes.

Speculation has it... that the nuclear option would be ruled out, because some of the deeper bunkers would need some of Ameiricas 1.2's ... and there is no way to set one of them off without having a major fallout above ground.

I think Bush will nuke them, but not before praying to The Lord. To ask God what ... "His Will" is. Then he'll cut loose the nukes. Because as we all know, "God's Will" is always what we've already decided to do anyway.

Bush is probably the single most dangerous human being on the planet, second to none. Literally, none.

Remember, Iran hasn't made any threats against us. Nor is anyone saying that they have nukes, no one is even saying they are capable of building a nuke.

The real enemy- the dark, horrid monster that lurks ready to exterminate all human joy- it's not really Bush. Nor is it the religious leaders of Iran.

The real enemy threatening mankind is FAITH. The sort of thinking that says "I believe because I believe because I believe and no one is going to change my mind." The belief in invisible omnipotent and omniscient beings. The belief in prayer. Those are the really dangerous, dark, monstrous forces amidst us. As long as faith exists, humankind is completely fucked.

And faith exists in most human beings, a leftover, harmful, dangerous leftover. Like an appendix. Reach inside yourselves, folks, and rip that beast out. It's wonderful to move into the real world. The reality-based community.

 

You couldn't possibly believe that Bush has anything that we could remotely call 'faith'. The only 'religion' that Bush has is what is expedient politically for him to have at the moment. The Bushes are by far the most irreligious people that have ever been in the White House. If they had any faith in the Christian God, they would know that they're gonna have to meet their maker one day, the same one that said 'whatever you do to the least of these my brethren, you've done unto me' and that ordered us not to kill. Faith is not destructive, and what Bush has isn't faith anyway: it's just a bunch of meaningless rhetoric that anyone with any real brains or faith could see through in an instant.

 

Exactly. The Christian Bible says that there's a special place in Hell reserved for people that persecute the poor and oppress others. The people that believe that Bush has 'faith' are a bunch of ignorant hillbillies like the ones I'm surrounded by-they watch all of this free advertising for the Republicans on these Protestant TV channels like TBN and Daystar that extol Bush as some extraordinary man of "faith" and they actually believe it-how ludicrous! And what's scary is that these people go and vote in such large numbers! Just plain ridiculous.

 

in the event of an attack the one to do most damage will be the one who attacks first. therefore assuming iran is about to be attacked it would be prudent on their part to attack first. israel will be the first one to go. the israelis knowing this probably have their own first strike policy drawn up, signed and delivered. knowing this one would assume that plans have been made by the americans assuring israeli security and safety. the iranians greates mistake was allowing the americans to gain a foot hold in the middle east . the americans greatest mistake was not to have attacked iran and syria simultaneously 2 years ago when they attacked iraq. north korea was a special case as they had the means of offering sturdy resistance both past and present.

 

to those of you who were pro or positive this latest development if it all goes pear shaped and the stupid politicians on both sides engage in the unthinkable I will be sending my daughter to you when she is old enough to ask what the hell happened to her family there...sheesh....the rhetoric today in the media was almost unbearable, have you all forgotten that people live in these countries?

I suddenly have a glimpse into what radicalises people cause the feelings I feel when I read stuff like this about doing damage to those I love and hold dear certainly are borne out of a sense of feeling little, powerless and totally frustrated at the absolute dickheads who are currently running things anywhere!
