Vote? Boy howdy, are you living in the past. If you vote today, at the federal level, you get a selection of people who are hardly representative of the rest of us. They got to be presidential candidates not because of who they are, but who back them. Big money, big business, and foreign interests. "We the people" get the crumbs from our own table. x
Not voting accomplishes little or nothing also. Voting at least puts our stats in the marketting database to perhaps influence future choices.
the great thing about democracy is that you can vote for anyone you want. you don't have to vote for someone who has 300 million dollars or more to advertise. if you don't vote you have no voice. what happens when even 60 million people who never vote suddenly get up from their sofas and start voting? it would be like a juggernaut. even if they all voted exactly as they wanted it would change the political landscape. anyone who tells you voting is a waste of time is a defeatist. if you can't get up and make one mark on a piece on a piece of paper or otherwise, then the chances are you probably don't have the mental faculty to vote anyway. how you vote gives you the right to exist. give your right to vote away and all sorts of stupid things start to happen. vote or die the choice is simple.
I agree, wish more did also, and perhaps one of our two parties right now would be the Green Party. The Republican party hasn't always been around. It's actually the younger of the two parties now in power.
