If you decide to break this kind of law, make sure you have in place a culture of security and only deal with people you trust.

I could have this guy pegged all wrong, but I think I know people like him, college dealers who don't understand how this stuff works or have any kind of worry about what would happen if they got caught because they know they'll never get caught because they never HAVE been caught... And everyone else knows they've only never been caught cause the DA is waiting on enough to do them some serious legal damage.

Don't be reckless, don't have large weight on you or your property, don't have parties or loud people at your place, don't deal with sketchy people who would sell you out, don't text/call/email about drugs, know your legal rights, have a lawyer on retainer.

These are good ideas for all drug users or anyone else who breaks the law, or even might break the law, but especially if you plan on selling anything illegal.

 

the only time I have around 4 grand in my pocket. is when the tax check comes in.. Other than that. my grow op only earns us if that .. 20-30 dollars a day. We dont sell much pot, besides people dont like to spend 30 a gram, so they can smoke hay idc..:2thumbsup:

if this happened in NY, and he has a clean record he likely wont do any jail time..

it will cost a bunch of money and be a huge pain in the ass, but if his lawyers any good he will at least have his freedom. back in 2008 the dealer i buy from was arrested with 2 and a quarter and he didnt do any time.. just cost him several grand a was a big pain in the ass, but he never went to jail..

also, my best friend was just arrested with a similar amount.. although it happened in Nevada, not New York.. and the cop really didnt have any reason to pull them over.. the newspaper said "suspected registration violation" when they wrote the story in the police section.. basically the cop ran the plates and claimed the plates were registered to a truck, when in actuality the plates were totally fine.. it was the cop who either ran the plates wrong, or read it wrong.. so his situations a little unique becuase of that fact..

but ultimately you should be thankful he got caught in NY (i'm assuming he did).. he's more than likely not going to do any jail time.. if he woulda got caught in other state he might not have been so fortunate..

ive been offered a few or more bjs for bud.. Its pretty dry here.. Ive done my part to educate people I know, they have no problem buying the dirty street weed by the qp if its around., but when it isnt they cant grow a single plant for themselves...
I know people that buy weed just to make money anyways.. a mofo is going to buy my weed at 10 a gram and put it back on the street for 20 anyways, so they can make money to either do whatever or mostly crack -pills.. I just cut them off at the pass..
my homies can get bud from me pretty reasonable but again most if not ever single person I know other than my wife and roommate dont know i grow, I just get buds..
my roomy probably sells more reg weed than I do, but I dont look for people to sell grass too, nobody really looking to sell me weed either and its not like I give a fuck.. :love:

 

It's been a while since I've had need for a lawyer. I'm wondering you say have a lawyer on retainer, how would you approach them on this. Ah mr. lawyerman I sell pot and if I get in trouble I want to be able to call you anytime, here's some cash.

 

pshhh... I don't know how the laws are around there but if that was here he would just owe a shit load of money and they would have been hitting him up for it this whole 'investigation'. Never would of spent a single min in jail even if on a school campus. There is a headshop steps away from LSU. I know people that sell things much much worse than pot off campus grounds. They pay their dues to the cops and they still make bank.

 

Well sort of, yeah. I mean, make sure your lawyer is down, but not hated by judges, you want the guy with the connections, but who still associates with and represents your type of druggie lowlife. It's illegal for your lawyer to turn you in, you could walk to the lawyers office accross the street and sue him for bank

I don't sell anything, and once I'm out of my current legal trouble I'll be looking into keeping a lawyer handy. It's nice to have someone you can call whenever you're in doubt about a legal or business situation.

i'm pretty sure they knew about this shipment coming in, so they busted him right after he got it. so that's why he had 5 in one place.

i think you have him pegged right. he probably was too obvious and not smart.

he's NOT looking at potential life though. the state law said 1-5 years and/or $15,000 fine. no mandatory minimum. i'll have to double check the federal laws.

again, he wasn't walking around with it. i'm pretty sure you didn't mean that literally, but just in case.

he and his family are taking this VERY fucking seriously. yes he was stupid, but i think he got his wakeup call. and i agree, if he gets lucky enough to just get probation, he BETTER not fuck up.

 

like i said, i think you got him pegged pretty good. on the other hand, not ALL college dealers are like this. i was very close with one for several years (not this much weight, more like quarters and halfs). although he didn't follow ALL your rules (he slipped up talking or texting a few times i'm sure, kept shit in his car, etc - no one is perfect), he was pretty good on keeping it on the DL. he actually HAD been caught before with just a half ounce, but they knew he was selling. so he was very stupid for continuing to sell in another state, but he was much more careful after that.
i think one major key is not being "flashy." this dude drove a piece of shit car (not that he made enough money to buy a nice one, but over the years he made probably $10,000 casually), didn't dress like a gangsta or a hippy, didn't flash money around even though he usually had a few grand in cash... so yeah, it CAN be done properly, but my bro-in-law was NOT doing it.

i know PA prices are high, shit 8 years ago it was 50/eighth. back then, 40 was regular where i was from. rough laws too
