I like guns, actually. A LOT. If it were just me and i had the money, I would probably own lots of them.

It's not just me, tho. I have very little money. And I have kids. If I had guns I would need to keep them in a locked cabinet, with ammo in another locked cabinet.

If I had them I would be tempted to take them out and fondle them after drinking a bottle or more of wine. I know myself. That would NOT be the best time to be enjoying my guns, would it?

 

I have been skanking through some dark alleyways of the Interwebz tonight...and lookie at some treasure I found...

 

I have thought about suicide many many times, sometimes you have bad days, and the shit creeps into your mind and you think man it would be so easy.

However, i have not once, ever put my own gun to my head or heart. Have i thought about it? Yes plunty of times. A shotgun blast in bird shot, to the heart, is my choice of suicide, it always will be.

Yes i have accepted death as part of life, and i am glad i have, and i am not afraid. Its a big, big mind fuck though, to put the steel force to stop your own life when you bought the steel to originally save yourself from threats.

Different calibers for different game.

Shotgun is great for birds and really anything.
A handgun is a great sidearm if you are walking in the woods.
A rifle for deer, elk and anything you can't sneak up on.

Their are different rifles for different situations and of course for bigger and smaller animals.

Some people might think shooting animals is cruel and this and that.

Thats fine, but i only shoot animals when the grocery store been closed for a few weeks cause power out or whatever might cause society shut down for a small period of time.

Plus i guarantee if the grocery store wont open and your family is hungry you gonna wish you knew how to shoot.

Living in New York City you are guaranteed to be fucked in a natural disaster of some kind. For us country boys, man we get our survival skills on.

 

There we are, brother broony. Thoughts of suicide have invaded my brain maybe hundreds of times, maybe thousands at this point.

A gun would be so fast and easy, wouldn't it?

I have had nights of pressing the blade of my nearest Swiss Army Knife against the artery of my left wrist. A few times I have actually sliced - lengthwise, of course, cuz if you go crosswise and fuck up you're left with a useless hand from severing the tendons. My slices were not very deep, though. The reality is not as clearcut as the intention. Skin slides over sinews and veins, making it hard to get to the artery in a single stroke. In all honesty it might take multiple cuts to make it to the artery. I just scratched my skin's surface, and then covered my wrist for several days afterward until the scab disappeared.

And lacking guns, I think of speeding trains very often. I know a stretch of track not far from here...I walked it once, in fact, at night, and moved over to the trees and brush when the train passed at 60 or so mph. But the thought stuck with me that I could have been on the tracks when that train came through...

Death lends perspective to life. It helps. I think: If I had killed myself when I was 20 years old, like I was thinking of doing, I would have missed out on SO MUCH.

In july of this year it will be two years a friend killed himself from jumping off a bridge. I miss him, and think about him all the time. It could have been hanging, purpose car crash into another lane, pills. Its all easy, the hard part is doing it.

I hear on the cutting. When i was 20, before i owned guns, which weird u say 20, i cut myself over the course of 2 weeks tell my girlfriend found out. I used a kitchen knife on my left forearm. I was testing myself. Granted i was in a bad mind state, but i could not sink the knife. Not me

Yes, the hard part is doing it.

Not long after my dear spirit guide Deanna fucked me off outwardly and got me fired from my job in Illinois, my old friend and former co-worker Margaret told me about a mutual friend and former co-worker - a brilliant man who found himself suddenly no longer an expert in his field, because of the rapidly changing landscape in computer technology, and who leaped off the top of his office building to his death.

For all my pain and suffering, for all my countless times full of desire to end that suffering, I have never been distraught enough to accomplish what that friend of mine and Margaret's did. I keep thinking: If I end it now, I'll never get to see what might have been had I stuck around just a little longer. Cuz it could be fucking amazing - you never know.

I think this everytime a suicide thought comes in. Countering your own demons.

My suicide will only happen if a few very, very, unfortunate things took place in my life. Chances of this happening are very very slim. I am in a whole new, peaceful, happier mind stand since i beat my battle with alcohol.

PLus i made a promise to myself to never take my own life tell my mother has passed away. I made this promise to myself after my buddy jumped off the bridge and i saw the sadness in his mothers eyes one day a year after his death.

So ill stick around for a little bit.:2thumbsup:

 

Y'all talking about the big S word...I would never be able to shoot or cut myself because I wouldn't be able to physically hurt myself. I'd take pills. I would say alcohol poisoning, but my stomach reflexes are too good...I'd throw up before I'd reach the lay down and wake up with Jesus part.

 

But yeah, the part of hurting other people from my own selfish, weak actions would always stop me.

I have thought a LOT about the possibility of alcohol poisoning. The thing is, suicide by alcohol poisoning is very tricky. You need to be able to basically suck down at least ten shots of 80-proof or better liquor before the alcohol you've already consumed makes you unconscious or makes you up-chuck what you've already drunk. That is quite a feat - not least of all because of how much that shit burns going down.

Pills are the method of choice for women, from what I've read. Of course, you need to choose your pills carefully, otherwise you just end up in the adult psych ward of your local hospital, and have more shit in your life than ever before, cuz the stinkin psych workers are in your face making you pay for wanting to die.

 

Believe it or not, I actually know someone who fake did that shit to GET into the psych ward...so they (the system) would start having "something to work with" for her to get disability. She isn't worth even half a pile of dog shit, and really IS crazy...but not like "the system" thinks. Yes, she gets disability, and I have nothing to do with her. Not oddly enough...in this day and time, she is almost sought after for her entertaining stories. ug...

However, I don't believe in doing anything half-way. I'd make sure I had enough to "do the deed". Damn waking up embarrassed.
