I think the main issue in that scenario is dishonesty.

 

Back in the 90s, I had a jealous girlfriend use the police to extract me from my own home, in order for her to raid my cross-dressing belongings. She managed to throw away some of my best things, clown outfits handed down to me from a deceased shriner clown, harlequins, dozens of wigs, crazy alien outfits, lingerie, shoes..
The reason, I was embarrassing with my eccentricity and other people in my family (my brother) helped her .. I must of been hurting their feeling because I was happier than they were. God forbid I wore my black and gold cat in the hat/hats outside football game day .. That wasnt the only things she managed to throw away. my deceased girlfriends pictures and video which were none of her business.. and when my other girlfriend past she did leave behind some intimates that we both shared, that was gone too..
that was the breaking point in that relationship, I could never be friends with her. I even pressed charges but nothing but minor monies were recovered and nothing was ever the same again.
It was only years following that where I began to collect more things but again it wasnt the same. still isnt .. Thank you. Betrayal of trust as well. Yes, if a transsexual doesn't tell me upfront they are pre-op (or post-op) and I take her to bed with me, that's a form of dishonesty and betrayal. My core requirement is that my partner must have a natural vagina. There are people who won't mind dating transgenders, but I'm not one of them. If they were upfront about their transgenderism early in the interaction, I would probably say something like, "Oh... Nuh-uh, really? Wow. Well thank you for letting me know. Have a good rest of your evening."

Actually, most people considered me a girl until I was 17. I had very long hair (this was the 1970s) and was very effeminate. Guys did hit on me, and it was totally scary. I wasn't trying to pass as female, so I was confused and uncomfortable w/all this unwanted attention. After I started to look more like a dude (as I became older) I was threatened on a regular basis in high school. I guess that's why I have so much empathy for trans folks. I know what it feels like to be treated like a freak.
