Based on the timing of strata and evolution, the human remains and articles should not exist where they have been found. I donot believe that the human remains found are millions of years old, but thousands. I believe we are looking at evidence of human kind which existed prior to the flood. Yet I believe Evolution has from the beginning mistakenly aged the earth older than it's actual age in order to fit the time they felt they needed for Evolution to occure. The finding of these articles and human remains has thrown a wrench in to their time frame, which I,m sure Evolutionist find simply unacceptable for their Theory of Evolution. Forbidden Archaeology believes these human remains are of great age, which puts man not in an evolved state, but fully human from the beginning. I only disagree with the age that Forbiden Archaeology believes they are. Considering all that is a stake here, you can understand why evidence like this is being surpressed.

1 Far more imprtant than your obfuscation and attempted spin is the actual name of the gate in question. It is called the Golden Gate by the builder, residents, and history. So either the prophet, the prophecy, or christianity is wrong [IMG]
2 You are yet to answer the truth that christianity has no claim whatsoever over the OT. The OT is the sole possesion of the Jewish religion. The NT is the sole possession of christianity, but because the NT lacks authentication, verification, and substantiation, christianity steals credibility by vicariously aligning with and manipulating elements of the Jewish OT[IMG]

    From Wikipedia

The Golden Gate is the oldest of the current gates in Jerusalem's Old City Walls. It was probably built in the 520s CE, as part of Justinian I's building program in Jerusalem, on top of the ruins of an earlier gate in the wall. An alternate theory holds that it was built in the later part of the 7th century by Byzantine artisans employed by the Umayyad khalifs.

In Christian literature, the gate is referred as the Golden Gate, but in Arabic it is known as the Gate of Eternal Life. Jews used to pray for mercy at the gate, hence the name Sha'ar Harachamim, the Gate of Mercy.

The gate is located in the middle of the eastern side of the Temple Mount. The portal in this position was believed to have been used for ritual purposes in biblical times.

In Jewish tradition this is the gate through which Messiah will enter Jerusalem. It was sealed off in 1541 by Ottoman SultanSuleiman I, allegedly to prevent the Messiah's entrance. The Muslims also built a cemetery in front of the gate, allegedly in the belief that the Messiah would not be able to pass through without risk of impurifying himself.

The Golden Gate is one of the few sealed gates in the Jerusalem city walls

    From www.biblegateway.com

    Ezekiel 44:1-3

Then the man brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary, the one facing east, and it was shut. The LORD said to me, "This gate is to remain shut. It must not be opened; no one may enter through it. It is to remain shut because the LORD, the God of Israel, has entered through it. The prince himself is the only one who may sit inside the gateway to eat in the presence of the LORD. He is to enter by way of the portico of the gateway and go out the same way.

    >>>Yes historically the gate found in Jerusalem is called the Golden Gate and no where in the passage of Ezekiel does it state that it is called specifically the "Eastern Gate." However, over the years people have called it the "Eastern Gate" because it is just as Ezekiel wrote, the gate that "faces east."

In regards to the OT and Christiananity, without the OT there would be NO NT

JDFU, why don't you answer my responses that you failed to answer in the other thread?

About your gate, your unfulfilled prophecy and proof of your God?

Can I still call it the Eastern Gate : )

The OT is the history of the Old Covenant. Which basically showed how that we could not live by works. Time after time the Jews disobeyed God. However God always showed His grace and never turned His back on them. Soon, God was about to reveal his ultimate act of grace...

Because of God's loving character God had already formulated a plan of redemption before the world was even formed. Specifically in Jeremiah 31:31, God states will make a new covenant. In fact, the whole Old Testament gives descpriptions of what the new covenant would be. These are called the Messianic Prophecies and there are over 300 of them. They can be found from Genesis to Malachi. They describe a man who would take the sin of the world away and would replace the Old Covenant. Here is a list of some of the discriptions:

    Genesis 49:10
The Messiah would come from the tribe of Judah

    Deuteronomy 18:15-18
God promised another prophet like Moses

    Psalm 22:1,7,8,16,17,18
Psalm 22 foreshadowed the crucifixion of Jesus

    Isaiah 11:1-10
Nations would seek the counsel of Jesse's descendant

    Isaiah 40:3
The Messiah would be preceded by a messenger

    Isaiah 42:1-9
Jesus' life was foreshadowed by the prophet Isaiah

    Isaiah 49:6
God's salvation would reach the ends of the earth

    Isaiah 53:3
The Messiah would suffer and be rejected

    Isaiah 53:5
God's servant would be wounded and whipped

    Isaiah 53:7
God's servant would be silent before His accusers

    Isaiah 53:9
God's servant would be buried in a rich man's tomb

    Isaiah 53:12
God's servant would be crucified with criminals

    Isaiah 61:1-2
Isaiah foreshadows the ministry of Jesus

    Jeremiah 23:3-6
The Messiah will appear after the Jews return to Israel

    Daniel 9:24-26
Daniel predicted when an anointed one would be rejected

    Micah 5:2
The Messiah would be born in Bethlehem

    Zechariah 9:9
The Messiah would enter Jerusalem while riding on a donkey

    Zechariah 11:12-13
Zechariah foreshadowed the betrayal of Jesus for 30 pieces of silver

The OT cannot be reinterpreted to suit NT ideology.
2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation
Amongst all those reinterpreted citations above, show where the prophesied "messiah" (amongst the many "messiah's" of the time) was named "Jesus."
Golden Gate is known by one name and one name only! Golden Gate. Either the prophets were wrong, or christian reinterpretation is wrong. And very wrong at that! You can't have it both ways.

    Let's read 1 Peter 1:20 in context:

Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

Therefore the ORIGIN of prophecy is not man's interpretation or a guess but men LED by the holy spirit thus creating accurate predictions.

You are seriously blowing this Eastern Gate/Golden Gate out of porportion. Theologians believe are they are the same thing and use both names! The gate that faces EAST thus the Eastern Gate. You are acting like it is a misinterpretation. Turns out the Golden Gate is the sealed gate that faces EAST just what Ezeikel describes.

The Eastern Gate which is the Golden Gate still stands and so does my faith...

    SYNOPSIS OF THIS THREAD:

JDFU created a thread to pit myself (the Great Libertine) against campbell34 in a debate over the existence of "God".

Campbell34 resorted to "personal experience" and "interpretation" rather than laying out a reasonable, philosophical argument or answering any questions with an objective (third party) evidence.

    We argued for a while.

Campbell34 and his minion directed the debate thread to discuss their awful "gate" horseshit (which proves nothing, btw) and thus sickened me from this thread.

I am amazed that this thread has over 1,000 replies and plus there is ANOTHER thread solely dedicated to the fucking gate.

I am ashamed that we (my hip bros & sisters) have spent all this time debating the existence of "God" by arguing about a stupid gate with a porch attached to it.

All that proves is that there is a fucking gate (or was) and has a fucking porch attached to it. It DOES NOT prove the existence of "God" or even the 100% INERRACY of the Bible or ANYTHING...other than the "interpretations" of campbell34 and his cronies.

I resurrected this thread, not out of spite, but merely out of hope that there CAN be a real debate sometime, someway in the future.

It seems that in the now distant past there was a discussion of restarting the debate according to Hipforums debate rules, with only the two participants allowed on the thread, and a forum moderator keeping an eye on it.

I'd like to see it happen. Lib, you might challenge Erasmus70...he seems like a feisty competitor and perhaps much more evenly matched with you. Read some of his posts and see what you think.

I doubt that you even know what you're saying, but I'll reply anyway.
    Let's read 1 Peter 1:20 in context
Yes, let's ~ 1 Peter 1:20 "Who verily was was foreordained before the foundation of the world but was manifest in these last times for you." No mention of prophecy. How about 2 Peter 1:20??, where your "context" bullshit can't stand up because it is one quite simple statement "Knowing this first, that NO PROPHECY of the scripture IS OF ANY PRIVATE INTERPRETATION."
Therefore the ORIGIN of prophecy is not man's interpretation
But you and your ilk go on and on about your own interpretations, one of which is your interpretation of the GOLDEN gate that you so dearly want to be called something else in the absence of any evidence of any historical authenticity of christianity, prophecy,or God whatsoever, not to mention your reinterpretation in the guise of "context" of the 2 Peter citation. You simply mix and match words from the bible to suit your pet theory despite the fact that man's interpretation has no relevance to prophecy as stated in 2 peter 1:20!
You are seriously blowing this Eastern Gate/Golden Gate out of porportion.
Not at all ~ you and your ilk are doing the blowing out of proportion, but being blind to your own deceit, you cannot see truth. I am blowing the christian deceitful falsity of the "eastern gate" out of the water. It's called "telling the truth" ~ something you and christians have scant regard for.
You are acting like it is a misinterpretation.
You, who convolute and re-interpret by back-reading in order to deceitfully concoct a gate to fit an otherwise irrelevant out-dated "prophecy" can say that in all sincerity? Were you to take a good hard long HONEST look at your own misinterpretation, maybe you could be taken seriously.
Theologians believe are they are the same thing and use both names!
Let's look seriously at this. You are saying that because christian theologians decide to believe something, it poves something? So how about if the theologians believe that the earth was flat? or the earth is the center of the universe? Surely that's crossed your mind at some stage ~ that "belief" proves nothing. Even fools have beliefs.
The Eastern Gate which is the Golden Gate still stands and so does my faith
The "eastern gate" is not the Golden Gate. It has never been known as anything other than GOLDEN GATE. Your adherance to a misinterpretation of prophecy says nothing other than you'll believe what you want to believe. If "faith" is believing every or any lie, deceit, or convoluted theory, you can have it.

Obviously you have a serious problem absorbing information. But that's about par for brainwashed people and christians.
How many times does "GOLDEN GATE" need to be repeated before it permeates the density of your mind?

    No.

"In the earliest Greek New Testament, the word for 'beautiful' is oraia. When Jerome translated the New Testament into Latin in the 4th Century he changed the Greek oraia into the similar sounding Latin aurea, rather than to the Latin word for 'beautiful.' So the Latin Vulgate text read 'Golden Gate' instead of 'Beautiful Gate.'"
