Man I've camped and smoked all over the USA in 14 states, north, east, south, west on every type of public land - national, state, county, city parks and forests, wildlife refuges, wilderness areas, DNR lands, BLM lands, and I never go camping without smoke and if nothing else at least a bottle of rum. Camp grounds are sometimes full of stoners and if they are not stoners, most people out camping are there because they don't want to be fucked with, and they don't want to deal with others too much, most of the time. Remember 1 out of 5 Americans are stoners, that ratio increases in the woods, and 80 % don't believe it should be illegal, so the odds are in your favor. Its true the more remote and primative the campsite, the less human traffic that will come by, thus the less of a chance of getting busted. I'm just saying I've never had a problem and I've even smoked in camps at National Parks in peak tourist season, and have never had any issues on public land, but I will add that I'm well behaved and I may not really look like a stoner at first glance. There aren't people jumping to go run tell on a stoner if they spot one in the act unless they are some paranoid church youth leader with a bunch of kids in tow or something. When you go camping, take your smoke and just be thoughtful of others. Try not to be loud and obnoxious, don't fly pot flags and play loud music, don't be loud too late, don't do anything that will bring a lot of attention to your self, use common sense, and simply pay attention to your surroundings. The public woods do contain LEOs Law Enforcement Officers in the form of the Nationa Park or Forest Service or the State park service. Obey the rules and they will leave you alone for the most part, they will walk through the camp sites and visit remote sites, but usually during the day only. Most of the time they just are watching out for everyone's safety. When I was camping in Glacier National Park, this ranger we met hooked us up with the dankest weed in Kalispell, Montana, just south of the Canadian border. He delievered weed to our tent, woke us up at like 7 a.m. when he came on to shift, climbed into our tent and got us ripped before he set out to do his rounds. The last time I camped on Cumberland Island National Seashore Sea Camp our neighbors in the spot next to us invited us over and we got stoned and drunk by and partied the fire all night at a reasonable level, a good time was had by all, and we never saw them again.:sifone:
