That's why I said PHYSICAL harm I have a tiny bit of HPPD myself. But it's not the same as being totally bonkers. The difference is HPPD was easy, I'm having to do serious work to get to the point of official bonkers.
At times in the past Ive wanted to reach through the monitor and squeeze your neck. At others your wise beyond your years. Right on RooR, right on.
He sure can be an annoying little shit, that's for sure, but Roor is one of the most intelligent assholes around here.
Thanks. I think? Having read (almost) that entire debate, I'm quite dissappointed, I really wanted to see hal try debate with people actually reading his sources. I can't decide if he was trolling from the start or not, but he surely ended up that way, for lack of any way out or support to his claims.
When I was in college this old guy classmate used to say... "I wouldn't shit ya, you're my favorite turd." RIP Mac.
Yes and at the end he started to censor my responses. It was very apparent after the second article he posted that he did exactly what I said, grabbed extract titles that sounded alarming and ominous without actually reading the content, especially when he realized the medical literature does not support his position. He even linked one that was just a title, no abstract, IN POLISH! LOL. I do take some gratification from the fact that after that "debate", Hal Licino went from being top-dog there to not-so-much. Even his usual cadre of followers steered clear of that one once it was clear Hal was a plagiarist and idiot. About a year or so later he quit Hub Pages. LOL. But as we both know, the "evidence" he was claiming just doesn't exist, so I knew it would never be forthcoming. and yes, that was a compliment.
I don't get why some people actually think that telling tall tales and horror stories about drugs will keep them in the bottle. Very few people paid attention to the results of alcohol prohibition, or when Hunter told us: That whole debate made me wonder what exactly is a person like Hals problem that he would get so defensive and just fall back on personal attacks, not once addressing the facts N.O. posted.
I wonder if anyone has ever had the impression they were being eaten by a hungry pack of blotters during a trip....that would be strange. But yes its one of the safer drugs for sure physically anyways. I still am under the impression psychological damage could potentially come from a bad trip or some people simply might not react well to it.
I agree there is no 'reasonable' situation where LSD would cause physical harm....that is what I was trying to imply with saying 'that much acid would be hard to come by' that it would technically be possible to die from it but it would take a ridiculous amount. There are unreasonable situations where it would cause physical harm Of course it doesn't literally turn your skull into an oven and cook your brains...wording it like that reminds me of the time when someone told me 'you trip on acid because your brain bleeds and the dripping blood causes visuals.' That one was pretty dumb.
Oh that's easy and Hal even said so himself, he made $$$$ from all the clicks. He was known for posting very "trollish" Hub articles to enrage and instigate some group and then sit back and watch the Google ad revenue come in and he never really denied it at all. What made my "debate" different was that I stuck to the facts of the debate and didn't get drawn into his childish M.O. I don't think he was prepared for an actual adult, scholarly interaction, or someone who could read and understand the medical articles, he just expected me to hurl insults and crap like most respondents to those type of "articles" he constructed. But as I said, I take some evil satisfaction over the fact that it completely destroyed Hal and showed him to be a plagiarizer and full of shit. I don't think his Hub Pages reputation ever recovered.
So did he swallow the joint or something? Because burning acid wouldn't do anything besides ruin all your acid you're fucking retarded
yea, the propaganda can be quite alarming when you're trippin' hard. Educate your self, LSD is a wonderful gift !
the account of the OP is hard to believe. i have never heard of lsd causing problems like that, or read anything that supports something like that could happen. well i do think that there was a valid point made in this thread. for people with underlying mental illness lsd can possibly exacerbate their problems. but then that makes me want to ask: what is mental illness? i believe there is no mental illness that cannot be cured by love. i had a friend that on his only lsd experience had a bad psychotic episode that lasted for a long time. at the same time the lsd trip seems to have deepened his sense of spirituality, and strengthened his morality, and sharpened his conscience. aside from the psychotic break, the lsd trip really changed him. for the better i think -- he became a much better person really. so while all these deep personality changes were occurring at the same time he had a bad psychotic break that was triggered by his lsd trip. it started at the time of the lsd trip and lasted for months, or it even could have been a year or longer i cant remember. he did eventually regain his sanity, but it was pretty severe for the time of his psychotic break. so once he regained his sanity it was obvious that he had gone through a tremendous amount of spiritual growth as a result of his sufferings and experiences, and that he was a better person for it. he will never use lsd again. that was his first and last time. shit rocked his world. but still i do believe that some people are pre-disposed to have a bad reaction to lsd and it could cause a psychotic episode in them. can it trigger mental illness permanently in people with a disposition toward mental illness? maybe. can it cure mental illness? maybe. i don't fully understand it. but lsd can cause you to lose your sanity, atleast temporarily. saying that it is really rare and probably won't happen to you doesn't fully acknowledge the risk that is being taken. kind of like saying oh well car crashes are so rare it probably won't happen to me. but yet we still drive all the time. and no if you have a psychotic break you will not have any control over it. set and setting don't impact that. it will just happen. i do think that people will have a much better idea of how lsd will affect them after their first trip. either you are going to have a bad reaction, or you are going to be one of the people who are able to use lsd without adverse affects and take advantage of the many benefits it offers to enrich ones life. i don't know that using lsd recreationally will really actually cause any more problems than so-called better intentions. in the electric kool-aid acid tests they did have kool aid acid parties. what about music festivals? it is in enviroments like these that some of the finest charachteristics of lsd can come out!
A couple of days ago, I accidentally took a huge dose of LSD, probably 450 mikes. I meant to take 150, but I was cutting up a long strip of blotter and I miscalculated. God, this stuff was strong. The first three hours were goddamn weird and not fun, but not nightmarish, either. A lot of thoughts like, what have I done to myself? But then I had a fabulous three hours of dancing and singing and grooving. It didn't hurt that I'm in the Caribbean with a beautiful sunset and moon and stars. I got about one hour of sleep. The next morning I felt absolutely fabulous. Just awesome. Kinda enlightened, somehow. Had a long, very deep conversation with my friend who did it with me. No bad effects whatsoever.
