    Myself, this old dude isnt so much interested in ego death, as maybe ego modification. New thoughts are good. Old thoughts forced down other peoples throats, not so much.

    Back in the day I had a complete ego-seperation on 2 tabs of the old school type blotter that would be in the 200-250mic range and it scared the hell out of me (not at the time, the next day) because the setting went way bad.

    Im glad you added that second paragraph because I was going to say as far as psychedelics are concerned ego death tends not to be a very desirable state for some of us. Ego death was something that really just happened to me rather than seeking it out, although there are certain psychedelics that more frequently produce the experience.

    You don't know that there is an ego or that you have one.:tongue:

    I know what "ego" is, or is supposed to be because I read it in a book...
    I also read in a book that I have one or that I'm supposed to, and that it's bad. Well, only part of it's bad apparently and it's a good idea to get rid of the bad part of your ego and keep the good part whatever that might be.

    I'll explain lsd and the ego death thing real quick for ya;
    Lsd and other psychedelics can allow a person to see the total asshole in themselves and their total Christ-like nature in one instant.
    What happens to a persons "psyche" under the impact of this is variable. There are no guaranteed benefits, in fact ego-death just might cause you to discover your inner bitch!

    ZW :peace:

    Hehe, you remind me orison, When I was a kid, acid was so cheap, we called it our sunday night high. You see, in colorado package liquor is not available on sunday and if we couldn't afford pot, we knew a guy with thousands of very potent purple microdots that he would sell us for 50 cent a hit. I would stay up all night tripping with my little brother in my parents basement.The last show on tv before they went off the air was outer-limits. I swear i must have seen every episode at least once while tripping.:biggrin:

    He means that any positive effects from an ego-death experience that manifest in the person after wards would provide indication that an ego-death type event had occurred for the person.

    Like being able to tell what type of apple tree it is because of the fruit it bears.

    I don't 100% agree with Desos, but it is pretty close.
    You can often tell a person who has had profound and positive experiences with psychedelics via a corresponding alteration in their outlook and behavior.

    Just like when poser kids come into the forums with BS stories about using psyches, you know as well as I that they get called on the BS fairly quickly because, well just because one psycho naught can just pick out another fellow inner-space explorer.;)

    What Fesh Dacre said. Very difficult concept to explain in a few words.
