Genetic?!? Wow, I learn something new everyday.

Moon_Beam, don't sweat it bro, I'm not angry. I probably never will be either.

I understand your ways man, I used to be a Christian, actually not too long ago.
I just found out that alot of the stuff I followed was because

    either A) Parents told me
    B)Bible told me
    or
    C) The pastor told me

When people began questioning my beliefs, I couldn't come up with any solid answers. Only "That's what so and so said." I was living blindly, and so I began to Bible Study. Research things on my own, and as I did. I found alot of flaws in what is meant to be a perfect religion. So I cannot any longer accept Christianity as "The Truth" or the "Perfect Religion", but rather, a misguided way to live.

Look up Deuteronomy 7:2. Also, you believe Jesus is G-d correct? Well, in the Bible Yeshua (Jesus Hebrew name) constantly referred to himself as the "Son of Man".

    Look up Numbers 23:19

Those are only a few of the flaws, I know your Jesus very well.

Aaaaaanywhom, Sorry I got WAY off topic.

I understand where you come from and all, you live by the Bible so it is only right of you to follow what you live by. When I was Christian, I always came to the conclusion that Gays will be forgiven for their sins just as common men are forgiven of their lies and such. Every sin is equal in the eyes of your G-d, so as long as they believe Yeshua, Jesus, Emmanuel, to be Lord and Savior, they should have no problem.

Look at Romans 10:9. It states that all you need to do is confess that Jesus is Lord, and believe with your heart that G-d raised Jesus from the dead to inherit It's kingdom.

(*(*(* Wow, I felt so weird speaking as a Christian again. *&^Shivers*&^*)*)*)

Yeah, that's why I don't believe homosexuals are considered as unequals - because if they confess they will be forgiven, just as we all will for eveything we do.

I guess Jesus call's Himself the Son of Man because He came to save all mankind, God is the Father, Jesus is the Son.

I have been to Bible study courses and I found that I liked to decide on things myself, but it all does make sense, sometimes it just takes a while to get your head around it all - sometimes you never will. The whole idea is so big, it was never meant to be easy.

I think it's important to distinguish homosexual orientation from homosexual activity. Nothing in the Bible condemns homosexual orientation per se. I tend to think that's something that is a combination of genes and very early childhood experiences that are very difficult to erase, not a choice in any meaningful sense of the word. Everybody, including Jesus, is tempted by one thing or another. It's part of being human. Giving in to temptation by actions or lust is another story. Am I saying that homosexual lust or conduct is sinful, or worse than heterosexual counterparts? No. I think promiscuity and sex without love are problems for people of any sexual orientation. I also think it's possible, although difficult and possibly unnecessary and undesirable, to abstain from any kind of sex. It might be undesirable to do so, it might make us miserable and mess us up, but it can be done. What we have to ask ourselves is whether or not it makes sense to do so. Is there a point? "Loving affection" is something else again. Analytically, we need to distinguish among three things: orientation, actions, and loving affection, which don't necessarily go together.

    Hi Time traveler,

I'm still alive obviously and so my learning goes on and on. I will make my opinion short and get right down to the core of it.
I am a Christian mainly because my mother exposed me to it via various churches mostly like Calvary Chapel. I decided later in life to go with it but still keeping my own self. Before my Mom exposed me to Christianity she exposed me to mind science and spiritualism which she regretted later. I chalked it up to her seeking God and deeper understanding of life.

There is good and bad in every organization. I think this is due to the "human Condition" which extends to territory and basic survival instinct, and yet the spirit side sheds a positive glow upon it all. [IMG]
Been into music since I was 3 and play a few instruments for pleasure and intellect. I have seen music reflect the times and change; what's going on, the past, and what may be ahead. Music is a beautiful part of communication. Yet this beauty like all beauties has been exploited for MONEY.[IMG] Money is a fact! but greed over it is the real demon. Yes? At this point in my life (46) I'm still a "sophomore", but I can see a little clearer from my mistakes and experience that when it's all said and done, and you are in the rest home, or if you are lucky, around a loved one dieing at home. It will be people and the relationships/time shared with them that will matter most. Not the Harley, degrees, boat, guitars, or other cool stuff we may have in life.
People and the time shared. That's my belief and I try to remind myself especially at the stressful peaks of work, relationships, bills, etc. I try to remind myself that LOVE is the greater good. Peace is with you! [IMG]

    The Bible is wrong.

To be a sin, there must be a victim effected by the sin in a detrimental way.
    Here begins discrimination.

With Gays, there is no victim. No one to show where an offence has taken place.

This is another area where religion has hurt countless innocents.
Women are the other sub group of society that has been denigrated needlessly by those who follow 3000 year old backward thinking.

Lets hope that the Bibles of the future smarten up for these two groups.

God's works are said to be Perfect.
If so a Gay soul is as Perfect as all others.

    Regards
    DL

This is not necessarily "discrimination"--treating similar things differently for no good reason. Many Christians disagree that to have a sin there must be a victim. Sin is an offense against God. Why is it wrong? Some say, simply because God says so. If God doesn't like it, that's enough. Others say because it interferes with God's plan--reproduction, heterosexual pair bonding, birds and bees, etc. Or because it's "unnatural". None of these are untilitarian reasons related to human happiness, but they're very common objections to homosexuality.

Sin is defined as rejecting God or denying and rejecting how and why we are made. This is how homosexuality falls into the sin category.

Try telling that to the church, it will never be the end of the story, no matter how much people want it to be.

well I am, a lot of people disagree about this, but I don't believe that being bisexual contradicts my belief in Jesus.
