Can you explain it to me?

    You get sick from things with germs that are inside buildings. Most germs are spread inside buildings. You don't get a cold from the snow.

    I walk barefoot in the rain regularly and never get a cold. I occasionally walk in the snow for short periods if it's above freezing.

    People who wear shoes all the time look at barefooting from a shod perspective. They don't realize the soles thicken and protect you from things like glass. One can always cut a foot on glass, but then again one can always look for glass and walk around it. Tougher soles usually won't get cut.

    There's always a hundred reasons for not trying something new:

    Why should I wear shoes? What about getting athletes foot? What about getting corns and deformed toes? What about the perspiration and odor problem? What about how they restrict foot movement and cause the muscles to lose strength? The cost of shoes and socks? What about how they keep you from enjoying the touch of the earth?
