I dropped out and entered community college by the GED route. It was a tad expensive getting through math (several catch up level courses), and juggling classes and a job was dizzying. How do you do on tests? if you test well, this is a decent option. So is concurrent enrollment at the local community college (look into distance learning if your district does not have some agreements with CCs).
Summing up high school diploma: I can attend what i was required too and I can do what is needed to be done. That may seem like nothing but think about it. If an employer sees you can't even sit at a desk, how can they even consider you reliable and a good worker? In the long run, you better be very lucky or your going to be very broke (physically from hard labor and no $$)
I didn't quit, breakout or give up. Some kid ratted me out for pot (No idea how he found out) When the security guard came up to me, I knew something was up. He asks "Wheres the weed at"? I say "Up your fat ass", then he searched me and found the pot. I was expelled. So they kicked me out. I have a job I enjoy, and currently saving up for an apartment when I turn the age to move out.
School bored me anyways, always good to go out with a bang. This security guard as 6'8 at 300 pounds. He wasn't exactly the 'Wittle guy'
if i could go back i would have done what i wanted to do which was drop out in 9 grade and get a GED and go straight to college, but instead i stayed in school till i graduated and said never again will i go to school, i was just burned out, what kind of sadist makes you read shit like The Scarlet Letter and Macbeth. That shit is the reason i know so many people who can read who choose not to cause they associate reading with the worst most boring shit on the planet. The trick is to read what you like and learn whats important to you.
I go to a continuation school, and it's so much easier to just sit in class and turn in some work evrey now and then and shut up. I don't see how hard school can be, the work isn't that bad if you actually look at it and read it insteed of be like "fuck this". And remember in 15-20 years are GED's gonna be even worth something? or are the people who are in college now got the right ticket?
I'm in school right now at a CC. I'm happy to say I'm doing pretty fucken good too. After HS I took a year break though because I was really burned out and sick of school, but I'm back at it now and at a decent pace. I'm 20, I have 18 credits (no, not a lot) but the important thing is I'm excited I'm on my way
I think a break makes sense for a lot of people. Maybe some people leave college early because they did not take a year off. Anywho, I am done with college and likely done with college. I will take a class or two in the coming years, but that is it. Graduate school is out of the question. I have toyed with the idea of going back for a second major if there is another major that strikes my fancy. Since all my core classes are taken care of, it may only take 3-4 semesters. But more likely than not, I will only take a few French classes in the coming years. College has a way of putting you in debt.
Why would you drop out? I plan on finishing high school, then going to mcmaster university (famous school in canada) to become either a lawyer, doctor, or anything else with a big paycheck. Since I'm doing VERY good in school now I'll have no problem getting into any college or university. I can't wait, I know high school and university will suck but I know when I have a high paying job that I'll be able to smoke all the weed and do all the drugs I want. It's gonna be sick. See you at mcdonalds.
Yeah, seriously, Im 16 right now, becoming a senior and I am just totally fed up with 98% of the kids and teachers at our school. Our principle is a money hungry tyrant. There's no school pride, and I just hate how we have to learn about such useless nonsense. But Im just going to make the use of it. Im gonna try and be in Dance, and Filming and be a newscaster or something. Plan events in our ASB club. Im also taking a clay class, and pshycology.. Im just dealing with high school, and probably going to do junior college just so I can make a living ya know. :I
