I did not supply the seeds but I spread a lot of them around! Check out the Jardin de Gatos in Barcelona :)

Or rest stops on the highways through Spain. :)

I ran out by the time I got to Gibraltar.

There were hundreds of us doing it at the time... we would gather at the Greenhouse Coffeeshop in the Centrum of Amsterdam to talk about it. At that time you could sit at a table outside and smoke, but you had to buy coffee. Ha - it was Kaffe Verkeerd... but good. Always with a tiny cookie.

I am sorry to hear this.

I wish I was nearby to get you a better source... but now I am down in Baja Sur 1,600 miles away :(

When I managed a dispensary in Lake County, California, I always had something for those in need. I gave discounts all the time to locals who were in poverty. There were many. But still the place made a large profit. We gave away over two pounds of cannabis every month to those who would verify their status. That is why we called ourselves the Compassion Center.

I also believe the war on drugs has affected the availability and price of food up there. With less workers from Mexico, less gets picked, more goes to waste. Spoiled rich Americans can't do field labor... they are too weak.

An amazing amount of your food in California is now coming from Mexico... the farms and vineyards down here are simply amazing. We enjoy a lot more fresh food here than I could in NorCal... shopping at Safeway would break the bank for sure. I was always at the Discount Grocers.

Thanks for the concern but I'll be my own source soon enough once I start ordering lights and seeds.
Starting small with just a few plants but Az at least allows for up to 12 plants in a household with 2 adults and with Mrs. Kat being a non smoker this will eventually leave me with a nice surplus that I intend to share with the massive homeless population of Tucson.

That was what I loved about Puerto Rico, the ability to walk into a rainforest for 30 minutes and come out with enough food for a week.

    That is great news!!!

You may want to consider LED lighting to save electricity.

Have you got any good growbooks? I helped create a few... here is the best one:

    https://www.amazon.com/Marijuana-Horticulture-Outdoor-Medical-Growers/dp/187882323X/

I took most of the photos, helped edit, and designed the book and layout. Took five years. Wish I could send you a copy but they are all in storage up north. What is doesn't cover much is LED lighting, as it wasn't developed yet at the time this was done. But everything else is rock solid information.

Happy Growing! And Viva Tuscon! When I lived in Silver City, New Mexico I would drive to Tuscon to go shopping at Costco and stop by Catalina park on 4th Avenue North and score something from the locals easily :) But that was the year 2000.

I'll definitely add a copy to my basket when I order my LED light.
tbh I tend to dig the www for finding data and diy info but hardcopy reference is always nice to have.

As far as reviews and such of LED lighting I think we could be a decade away from having it nailed down to a fine science but certainly a lot closer than when I started digging into them a decade ago, with the rapid developments being made in that arena I think coming up with any sort of a definitive guide that could stand any test of time would be a fruitless endeavor for the time being. Though in thinking about it further, if the book at least covers things like light spectrum & intensity then perhaps being specific with regards to the source of light isn't so crucial?

On the bright side, from what IS on the shelf these days (even though it's seeming the blurple lights are not in fact "ideal" for flowering, they work well enough for the time being) these TOAD lights seem to be getting predominantly good reviews in terms of durability & functionality so I'm probably grabbing one of their "1000 watt" (135W actual consumption) panel for starters this friday.
(Though I'm still debating between about a half dozen strains, most are listed as highly tolerant to heat from Malawai &/or Thailand so I can also go seed spreading along the Santa Cruz ;) )

    Ahhh, decisions, decisions...

Exactly! I always wait until I'm sober before I even open the car door to go somewhere. Even when I go hiking. I will not leave until I'm sober and that can be a few hours. I like my freedom and my license.

I am happy to hear you are moving forward on your project. We need more home growers!

The book covers lighting and spectrums with many charts that I designed. It is a wealth of information! And yes, the source is not the main thing, but the intensity it produces with what spectrums.

I sure like the Toads. My friend uses them in Indiana (shhh...) and is happy. The savings on power is tremendous, and the heat output is a fraction of traditional lighting. We used CFLs on 24/7 for vegging babies and clones, then moved the plants into the main flowering room which was lit just 10 hours daily so flowering would commence.

Strains are a different subject, the book covers many strains and talks about genetics extensively. You might find it a great handbook in the garden itself.

I only have the ebook version here for reference, but if you have questions this is a good place to ask!

This used to be the liveliest section! But legalization came along...

But there really is a need to talk about growing your own. And I hope others can read and learn more.

It is great to see such interest here!

This is a great section. It's nice to be able to post and talk about pot. When I was on Fakebook. I was part of a group for marijuana. It was a public group and I felt I couldn't post on it as it would show up on my feed. Once it became private. I opened up, posted pictures, and had good conversations with the people in there. Most of the photos I posted here came from that group on Fakebook in the stoners lounge.

    News flash!

I just read in the UK Guardian (my favorite news source) that the Spanish have outlawed the Cannabis Clubs in Barcelona!!!

    NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

    How sad.

This will just drive the market back to the underworld. At least in a club you could get some reputably clean good pot. On the street you often get crap.

Living in Barcelona for a few months was an amazing experience. I HIGHLY recommend it as a destination, even tho the clubs may be closed, boo hoo...

Where else can you see sights like this?

    Of course :)

Why though? If you can drink. You should be able to smoke pot.
