Cannabis and Marijuana Hangout

Got back from my road trip yesterday. While in Montana I wanted to pick up some Montana Silvertip, a popular local strain, tried sweet talking them at a medical marijuana dispensary and of course I got nowhere. "Not until January when they allow recreational sales." is what they kept telling me. So on the way back I picked up an eighth of it in Washington. Not exactly the same but it was the best I could do. Good shit too!

 

Nice! I found an old stash in a jar the other day. I haven't touched it since the end of winter. I'm going to smoke it today.

 

Been out for nearly a week now, on the bright side it seems that there is some sort of residual effect from vaping moderately & consistently as the inflammation & joint pain took a few days to resurface. (At least I'm hoping 3-4 grams worth of vape distillate a month can be considered moderate)

Off to the pot shop later today for a cart though I'm tempted to give shatter dabbing a spin after seeing a gram of Peyote Gorilla going for $25, granted the price has me concerned about potency but it's not like I'm used to finding anything better than mid grade at the dispensaries I've been to in Tucson so far so cross your fingers for me.

In thinking further on strain selection for my upcoming grow I'm wondering if anyone knows which strain carries the highest CBD and THC levels in the same package?

 

I got some Delta 8 bud the other day that claims 31% D8 THC... Not sure how that's possible, but.... Yeah, "Marketing"

Most test results run around 8% D8 for flower... also amounts of CBD and/or CBG, which is what the base flower is. D8 distillate is added after the fact.

Vapes are higher % D8 but most only spec Total cartridge weight, not chemical analysis.

 

I smoked 2 bowls when I got home. I was alone and it was nice and peaceful. The way I like it

 

Even though it was in a stash jar it was still untouched for a few months. Hope it wasn't harsh.

 

It was still good. Got one bowl out of it before I tapped into my other stash I've been smoking. I got really high.

 

Well the day ran a bit longer than anticipated but finally settling in for some sweet relief in the form of a poor boys dab kit, we'll see how this compares to vape carts.

My wife has noticed that I've been smoking far less then I used to. She asked why. I said it's because I'm running 4 to 5 times a week. So therefore, I'm a lot less stressed. So I now only smoke 1 or 2 times a week instead of everyday.

 

LOL!

Come to think of it. I hardly smoked over the weekend. I only did 1 or 2 bowls and that was it. My tolerance is going to go way down.

Insanely glad I got high myself, the "off" quality of the buzz from vaping all that time had me concerned that somehow the cancer therapies had fudged with my canabinoid receptors and I was going to be cursed to a life of "shwag-buzz" luckily not the case here.

The "additives" listings on the shatter is sort of creepy and has me feelin' pretty good about this grow light on the way.
As far as the butane goes, I'm not drawing directly on the dab straw while heating and generally clear the tube of stale smoke before hitting the dab so if anything the only butane residuals I'm getting are coming from the shatter itself via the extraction process, already working on a design for a rapid-fire rosin press. BUT those sound like some cool lighters (I love gadgets)

My first job was at a place making sandpaper belts, the machine used to press the ends of the sandpaper strip to the hot glue strip was a big ole' 20 ton T-press. The heating element used was mounted under the press plates so never saw any actual pressure, not too complex & I think I can work out a similar rig for a benchtop arbor press, maybe a 4"x8" press plate so I can rosin-out my colas in one shot? We'll see. And ofc, thinking the spent bud will get a final wash in some everclear to make some down & dirty RSO

**NOTE** If anyone goes to buy one of those lil' Rhino dab straws, DO-NOT get the ceramic ones, TRUE the hole wont melt shut on you but they're solid white and you'll kill yourself trying to figure out if you took a big enough hit or not. That being said, I have an extra one available should anyone interested be passing near Tucson.
