Yes, that invisible to everyone but cats neon sign blinking Free Food. Sorry it was not Thunder Cat. Perhaps he sent a brother or cousin your way.
Yes, this cat, who told hubby that his name is "Sam", looks very much like he is related to ThunderCat.
I really hate to agree with you, Aeri (about Mama Kitty) but I do. From everything you said she was always a committed and responsible mother and she was steadily around. Since she had kittens not all that long ago, I feel that if she could be there, she would be. She'd want to eat some of that good Aeri food. I had 2 different mother cats that were excellent, loving mothers. When each one disappeared, and there were kittens, I knew something had happened to prevent the little mama from coming home. I never saw either cat after initially disappearing. I think an owl got each one. I hate to hear this about Mama Kitty. Have you seen or heard the kitten?
No, Lynn. Hubby and one of the triplets only heard and saw the kitten that one day. I suppose it was screaming because Mama Kitty was gone. They said there was no way to get close to the kitten. I assume it died with Mama Kitty not there. Ugh...this hurts my heart.
yeah, me too, Aeri. very very sad. I've thought before about those damn running-wild dogs that one of your neighbors have...how unsafe for children and cats and even small outside dogs it could/would be to have big dogs (as I remember you describing) running around the neighborhood.
Those big dogs are kept up now. We have owls. I hear them every night. We also have coyotes. I see them dead on the highway. It's strange though...Mama Kitty always seemed too smart to go like that. Maybe she was snake bitten or ate a bad lizzard or something. There have just been so many deaths and disappearances. I shouldn't get attached.
Oh my...owls and coyotes can be fast and sly. It is also season for the snakes to be out and about, in preparation for laying up for the winter, I guess. and it's easy saying "I shouldn't get attached"...I've found it's about impossible to do. Blessed be these animals that survive by wit and will, and manage to demonstrate more dignity and love to their young than a lot humans I've encountered.
Well, I had to have my 13 1/2 year old Skooter put to sleep this morning. She became ill Friday night and just couldn't get well. She's the one that was found by golfers on the golf course my parents lived on. Mom saw them trying to give a tiny kitten some water from their own bottled waters. Long story short, Mom called us to come get her the next day. That was in June of 2000. We've had 2 indoor cats, 1 outdoor cat, and 1 stray kitten die this year; plus, 4 outdoor cats that have gone missing. 2013 has not been our year for cats. R.I.P. Skooter
Sorry Aerianne. RIP Scooter. It is hard to lose them any time of year. :bigcry: :grouphug: :Angel_anim: Scooter is at Rainbow bridge.
Rita and I have lost three of our furry family this year, Spot to coyotes, Bear to eagles, and my buddy Sia to a poisoned rat. Sia still visits....... R.I.P. Skooter
Thank you Honey and Ranger. We've had a little invisible mischief maker in our house this year. It's anybody's guess who this one is.
