Unless you're into an aggressive style of shortboarding, weight isn't much of an issue.

For me, as long as the tail sinks so the wave can push it down and give me the stability to walk the deck, ride the nose and hang my toes, bros, I'm good.

 

I had to work if I wanted something--a car, a new board, money to go out to the movies, etc.

Now I work to survive. 100% of my income was disposable. Someone else paid for food and bills and a roof over my head and all that important stuff.

 

you have to be like 175 lbs. I weigh 210. It doesn't work on a short board at all and it's hard to "pop up" when you weigh more. I couldn't get my knees past my gut! Long story short... surfing is now part of my past. Which is fine. I used to use lots of gas getting to the beach even if the waves weren't popping.

 

And they do. They're all trying to be Laird Hamilton and shit. And a lot of them can be complete jerks too.

I'm more retro and old school.

Anyway God continues to punish me, eighth straight weekend with no waves. We keep getting good surf in the middle of the work week

Yeah, I guess it's because i used to care about my future. Now the future is here and I realized there was nothing to worry about. It all works out in the end.

 

I had a dream last night that I was a waitress and I had to carry the tray of food out to tables, on my head. That was scary. Why are my dreams so fucking strange? —_—

 

Just looked out the back window and saw a small squirrel. Maybe 25% smaller than the average one.
It made me wonder why I never saw a baby squirrel. I never in my life saw one that was like 4 inches long. Do they only come out and about after they are grown a bit?
