The dog had like no bones or something? They were broken? It was like a bag of skin and meat with no bones. She was crushing its bones.
You're all for freedom, but not for Cubans apparently. I guess you think not wearing hats at school is somehow comparable to not having a free press?
I wonder then...if we were to take a quick census of Hipforums-users and their computers.. I wonder how many of the so-called "non-materialistic" have computers that they purchased for less then $1000. I'm betting that more people have coughed up a grand and dropped it on a computer then not. $1000 dollars is my rent and all my utilities combined. To blow it on something that will be outdated in such a short time is downright frivolous in my book. Humans are materialistic creatures, they always are for want of something. Especially something that someone else has.
Well, you're sure off to a bad start. I didn't pay a nickel for my computer. It's used and is a gift from a friend. It doesn't have a printer, webcam, or scanner. My first computer ever.
AGREED! Many people still don't know how to live there lives. From their arguments, I know i should not argue with them. Neither can they take away my happiness nor can they threat my very survival.
so, you grab the scraps of a world you cant afford to live in, thrive off it, and then pose a superior stance because you cant afford your lifestyle? Is your name Che? he was worthless too.
What is materialistic? Taking a holiday? Buying a computer? Getting a new mountain bike or pair of skis? And what does materialism have to do with the fact that Cuba lives in slavery under His Royal Beard for Life? Cuba gave up freedom and got nothing.
I hate all this Cuba bashing, Cuba has no affilication with the world bank and has about 60 million dollars in the bank account. The US is almost 9 trillion dollars in debt. But the people can eat big mac's and have expensive health care. I dont think Cuba is the model for any country but it should be the moral model for a lot. You dont need to be a whore for the united states in order to survive. Regardless of how "bad" some of you claim cuba to be I can find places in the USA that are just as bad and im sure theres more of them. If you dont want to live in cuba take a raft on the 90 mile journey. Good riddance.
Health care is offered to all. This is THE basic human right that falls to very low priority behind economic goals in a lot of country's. Premoting education and sports, these are activities that boost the country's self worth. Im zonked from mid terms I'll think of some others later but I dont know why I needed to mention those above. Cuba's goals are noble, some of the ways and means theyve had to deal with people who oppose their goals are less than noble but thems the breaks and you'll find less than noble acts commited by governments all over the world. Cuba's seem to be highlighted because the country 90 miles away that Cuba is driving mad would LOVE to see Cuba fall back into the hands of the corporations. Get the green, bling bling, dolla dolla bill y'all. I have socialist tendancies so I form my world view from that angle. Those who violently oppose the "Castro Regime" must have a different agenda than myself because the way I see it, although Cuba is "poor" economically they are rich in other ways. Those who dont see that live their lives differently than myself. My dream country is one where everyone owns their own piece of land, they raise the majority of their own food and vegitables and leave a fairly small footprint. Cuba is about as close as it gets to fitting that bill IMO. Closer than Canada or the USA anyways where we tend to work for a wage then go to the grocery store and pay for our food stuffs. Cut out the middle man. But then again a lot of us North Americans are lazy and the idea of physical labour is contrary to the "North American Dream" Anywho im sure someones going to pick apart what I said. I'll be back to see whats up. Regardless I support Castro, especially if the only other one to compare him to is Batista.
So things like freedom of speech, a free press, freedom of assembly and other human rights aren't that important so long as the royal beard for life gives you some health care?
That's why people shouldn't be so quik to believe the information on Cuba comming from the government. They control the info we get about Cuba's healthcare and educational systems etc
Man this crap is getting old . If you are real sick and you dont have relatives in the U.S you die . The real needed medicine is ship from Miami to cuba. You are lucky if you find some aspirins in Cuba . Teeth pull = no pain killer shot in 40+ years.
id like to see trinidad cuba and see those high mountains in the background. , id like to go up there . then , ....santiago and santa clara .....it must be a beautifull.
I wasn't asking you to prove your point, I was asking Motion to prove his. If he can't, then I would think he was making unsubstantiated claims....
Are you asking me to prove that Cuba has a state-controlled-press and media that controls the information that we get about Cuba? Do I really need to prove that?
