I'm a cat and dog person. I love both, both their presences makes me squeal enormously with happiness normally. However I feel a strange connection to cats. I kinda have the same personality as one. Every cat i've ever been near has loved me, you just gotta know how they like their alone time, and gotta gain their trust. Dogs and cats are COMPLETELY different, and both tend to different ways of having them as a companion. Still, I love them both <3 Cat haters I find are the ones who are like "Wat? A pet that you can't play with? What a bore!" So whatever, (even though you can definitely play with cats). Some people just prefer dogs because their energy levels can be peaked at a snap of a finger most of the time.
With cats, you can leave for a few days or longer and they get along just fine. As long as they have a place to poop and plenty of food and water. With dogs --they're in there--they're always up in there-jumpin' around and demanding attention, eating anything you leave they can reach. They're like 3 year olds that never grow up. And you can't leave them for days. My son and grand daughter have a dog and my other son has one also--they all live in the same house. They're really good dogs and I love 'em,but I guess I'm a little too selfish with my time and energy to take care of one of my own. I always bring treats for them ,so they love me --if that's what it is. Probably not--I'm the treat-man for them.
I think cats are fun to play with, with the few experiences that I had to play with them. They sort of like to bat around stuff like string and little toys that look like Xes with ball-points at the ends. Seeing a cat at play is adorable, even though I only experienced cats at play only a couple of times, I tresured those moments GREATLY....
The love or hate thing does not apply here in my experience. I know lots of peeps who have rather neutral feelings about cats. As a kid we had sometimes more then 20 cats around the house (we had haystacks and if you have 5 cats and one or two breed and go give birth there you get to this point at the end of the year ). I'm clearly more of a dog person myself.
I kind of have this with rabbits and guinea pigs. They just nibble in their cages all day. I know some people let them live freely in the house but to say they get more fun to have them that way...no.
Along with music, companionship of cats is the only thing that has kept me going over the years. They are independant, free spirits, but also capable of displays of love and affection. They are not subordinate like dogs, which is why I think many people don't like them. I'm definitely a cat person, and see them as angels.
Nice to see you back wa bluska wica :seeya: Molly, the current ruler of this house [the title is an anagram of "Molly The Cat"]. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNtY76zJKtg"]FRANKENSTEIN SOUND LAB - To My Hellcat - YouTube
That cat looks hungry. But yeah, most who don't like cats (to the point of cruelty or hatred, not just choosing to not have them) are usually nasty controlling people.......
See what I mean? They're all angels! <3 And don't give me that, I know you love them all really. hehe
I have just one cat. Well behaved, never gives me any trouble. Coolest cat ever but I've had company shout that they hate cats when they see him and it's true, they were all controlling arseholes.
Yes, I've noticed that people that prefer/have a need to control do not like cats...and I've seen it a lot! I like dogs, too, tho'...altho' I will admit that I prefer for the resident dog not to have a mouth as big as my face.
I have tended to find that people who hate cats are generally not very nice people. I also find that a lot of the things people hate about cats seem to come from misunderstanding. They clearly do not understand cats, and probably don't have the capacity to anyway. I like dogs too, and in fact all animals. I just feel a special connection with cats that I can't explain...
I do not hate any animal. But I dislike cats. I'm allergic to them. I'm talking like Sleepwalkers allergic. I associate them with discomfort and misery. This also colors my perspective when I see entire websites devoted to pictures of cats with blatantly misspelled text, cats worshiped in Egypt or houses crammed with no less than thirty cats. So I add them to my list: beer, sex, football, caviar, coffee and Dan Brown books. That is, list of things that, in my case, were over-hyped or falsely advertised. -BlkBks
You Sound Like A Very Sad And Lonely Person.... I Hope In Years To Come, Life Improves For You.... Cheers Glen.
I've had my Piccolo since September/October and he delights me every single day. Of course there are morning's he absolutely annoys the shit out of me... 3am play time each morning and 6am brekkie! But he just has this uncanny ability to melt my little heart all over again in an instant. I absolutely love the poses I find him in when he sleeps. Usually when he's laying stretched out, his little toes are curled up, or one paws over his eyes. I'll often find him in the sink, contorted in the most uncomfortable looking possitions ever. This photo was taken of him about a month or so ago, just chilling on the couch. He's spoilt rotton and he know's it too! I really cannot imagine not having him in my life now.
