its not honor, its a combination of fear and obedience. look at wild cats Vs wild dogs, wild cats (such as lions) work independantly for the greater good of the pride, whereas wild dogs work for the good of the leader of the pack, the one who the rest are afraid of.

^ that whole statement is redundent then

working for the better of the pride, they are always still obeying a leader, same shit as dogs

ok well here goes a story...

BAck before I used to toke and everything, I used to be insanely mean to my cat. The kind of mean where PETA would've been on my ass. I won't get into details because I feel really bad about it to this day.

After my first mushroom trip I realised that I shouldn't be treating my cat this way. After that night, I made an effort to be more loving towards my cat. I do still get mad at her but I don't be as mean before. My cat still cowers at me when I get mad at her but she would always come to me at night and snuggle up by my head or comfortably next to my feet.

My cat has recognized that although I lose my temper and get mad at her, I will always forgive her. I believe that my cat has forgiven me for what I've done to her and she accepts me for who I am.

I'm not a parent but I think I have uncondtional love for my cat. She's broken at least 3 of my pieces and while that makes me mad, I still love her.

It's like that scene from meet the parents. You have to earn a cat's love. Dogs give it freely. Owning a cat is a different choice because cat's aren't always into you. They have their own lives.

I love dogs. Always have loved them. My mom's dog is the most hilarious thing in the world to play with. She attacks your feet and licks and nibbles them to death.

Anyways, is there a superior pet? No. Because like most things, It's a personal opinion. I like cats more because when they are affectionate, you know it's genuine because they could be licking themselves rather than being with you

no they dont follow the leader out of fear, the do it for the cubs, and the rest of the pride. the whole pride gets fed, not just the leader. besides there are usually 2 dominant cats in a pride, instead of just one tough guy. i too love dogs but baked goods has it right, a cats affection seems more real. often mor real than a humans affection

It's real because they're taking time out of their usual self centered schedule to come and say hello. Thats why I love cats

Cats only 'love' you because it's in their best interests. they see you as a source of food, warmth, and entertainment. if they find a better deal they will take it.
A dog is loyal to the end.
If you die a cat will eat your body.
    A dog will guard it.

The best way to sum it all up is:
A dog thinks "He's giving me food! he must be god!"
a cat thinks "He's giving me food! I must be god!"
