CBN sucks. Check out 3ABN (Three Angels Broadcast Network) Now there's a network run by true Christians. What really gets me is the fact that Christians make a HUGE deal over the Ten Commandments but they routinely ignore the Fourth Commandment. Exodus 20:8-11. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days shall you labor and do your work but the Seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your G-d. In it you shall do no work, you nor your children your male or female servants nor your animals or the foreigner living in your countries. In Six days G-d mad the heavens and the Earth and rested on the Seventh day therefore the Lord blessed the Seventh day and made it holy. Saturday is the Seventh day of the week Sunday is the first day of the week. According to the Bible the majority of Christians are keeping the wrong day.
I know Jesus and he knows me... if you knew Him you would know that good deeds do not get you to heaven. Fed up called me the liar remember... when it was him that lied... but than again no one cares about truth on this forum. If Jesus and most of the people on here met... he would ask... "Did you not read my manual on life?" Most would respond... "Of that old thing... no way!"
..we're all one big fam-il-ly. Sorry man, (and happy birthday btw) but I just got this visual of a guy in a big purple dinosuar suit standing behind the podium. The bible disagrees with you on that. Matthew and Luke both say that when JC comes back he'll be saying to people " I was thirsty and you gave me drink, you saw me naked and you clothed me..." or not. Nothing in there about what books we've read.
So I'm getting the feeling that you don't do anything to help anyone else except tell them they are flawed for not reading the bible and taking it literally..... I'm telling you, Jesus doesn't really like you much, he may love you and thats because you are selfish, combative, actually sort of a violent person
what use would god have for "written" words? When God says something it comes to pass, there's no need to write it down, there it is; "And god said, "Let there be light" and there was light..." Looking for God in a book is like looking for groceries in a cookbook (you may find it. sort of. but you'll still be hungry). As most poeple in the ancient world were. As all of us are for the most part. LOL! Braille only benefits those blind people who are willing to feel.
Yep. It's not just about what people believe, or what book they've read-it's about how they treat each other.
You said they were "not alive" and that equals dead. NOT ALIVE = DEAD And conversely NOT DEAD = ALIVE Whether they are counted in the census or not is completely irrelevant. What matters are the biological facts. And top scientists in their fields are unanimous - life BEGINS at conception/fertilization. Now, who should I believe guys? The scientists or FedUpAmerican? Here again is the testimony of the 11 scientists I referenced earlier. If you have reason to believe they are wrong FedUp, then please share with us why these scientists are wrong and you (not a scientist) are right. "We introduced an affidavit from a professor of medicine detailing 19 textbooks on the subject of embryology used in medical schools today which universally agreed that human life begins at conception… those textbooks agree that is when human life begins. The court didn’t strike that down—the court couldn’t strike that down because there was a logical/biological basis for that law." --Patrick A. Trueman in a 1975 brief before the Illinois Supreme Court On The Unborn Child "In biology and in medicine, it is an accepted fact that the life of any individual organism reproducing by sexual reproduction begins at conception...." --Harvard University Medical School’s Professor Micheline Matthews-Roth, The Subcommittee on Separation of Powers, Report to Senate Judiciary Committee S-158, 97th Congress, First Session, 1981 "The beginning of a single human life is from a biological point of view a simple and straightforward matter—the beginning is conception. This straightforward biological fact should not be distorted to serve sociological, political or economic goals." --Dr. Watson A. Bowes, Jr., The Subcommittee on Separation of Powers... "The standard medical texts have long taught that human life begins at conception...I am no more prepared to say that these early stages represent an incomplete human being than I would be to say that the child prior to the dramatic effects of puberty... is not a human being. This is human life at every stage albeit incomplete until late adolescence." --Dr. Alfred Bongiovanni, The Subcommittee on Separation of Powers... "The exact moment of the beginning [of] personhood and of the human body is at the moment of conception." --Dr. McCarthy De Mere, The Subcommittee on Separation of Powers... "Each individual has a very unique beginning, the moment of its conception...The human nature of the human being from conception to old age is not a metaphysical contention, it is plain experimental evidence." --Dr. Jerome Lejeune, The Subcommittee on Separation of Powers... "By all the criteria of modern molecular biology, life is present from the moment of conception...Now we can say, unequivocally, that the question of when life begins…is an established scientific fact…. It is an established fact that all life, including human life, begins at the moment of conception." --Hymie Gordon, The Subcommittee on Separation of Powers... "Physicians, biologists, and other scientists agree that conception marks the beginning of the life of a human being—a being that is alive and is a member of the human species. There is overwhelming agreement on this point in countless medical, biological, and scientific writings." --Concluding Report of The Subcommittee on Separation of Powers, Report to Senate Judiciary Committee S-158, 97th Congress, First Session, 1981 "It is incorrect to say that the biological data cannot be decisive…. It is scientifically correct to say that an individual human life begins at conception, when the egg and sperm join to form the zygote, and that this developing human always is a member of our species in all stages of its life." --Professor Roth, Harvard University Medical School "There is one fact that no one can deny; human beings begin at conception." --Landrum B. Shettles, M.D., Ph.D. "A doctor must always bear in mind the importance of preserving human life from the time of conception until death." --International Code of Medical Ethics
By the way, there are cultures (like Taiwan) who celebrate the conception of a child and celebrate that date as their beginning. So, if the preborn were to count in the Taiwanese census (just like preborn killed in a crime are counted as victims), would that mean they are alive at conception and a person? No. Whether they are alive or not depends on the facts of science.
NO, All I am saying is works do not get you saved... Jesus taught to do good works and so should those who follow Him... but it is not a requirement in salvation.
If it's not a requirement for salvation, then why did he tell those that hadn't fed the hungry to depart into the everlasting fire prepared for the Devil and his angels? And the same for those that didn't clothe the naked, etc.? You know, what you're preaching is a Protestant, 'salvation through faith alone' doctrine, that doesn't even square with what Christ taught. That's why people like the CBN'ers believe that they can go across the world and blow up innocent people and not have their salvation in jeopardy-all they have to do is 'believe'-such ain't the case, sorry.
ooo, and what about in Acts the man and wife who sell their land or something and do not donate the money then get consumed by worms
We have more than just what Paul and Luke wrote. We also have Peter's endorsement of Paul's epistles in this passage you're not familiar with. Glad to share it with you. [size=+1]2 Peter 3:15-16 and consider [that] the longsuffering of our Lord [is] salvation -- as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable [people] twist to their own destruction, as [they do] also the rest of the Scriptures.[/size] Paul received his message and doctrine directly from Jesus Christ and he demonstrated this fact through the working of the Holy Spirit in his ministry. Regarding which specific doctrine? Some were, some aren't. For example, God is concerned about murder even if it occurs outside the Body of Christ. Thou Shall Not Murder is a universal command that all persons and governments are to uphold (Gen 9:6). God wants justice for ALL, not only those in the Body of Christ.
