These types of discussions make keeping things orderly extraordinarily difficult and are generally not tolerated here or in any of the other forums. If there is a question about how a forum is being moderated it is best to take it privately to a moderator. This is an especially challenging forum because of some very deep differences among some of the members... and the difficulty that some appear to have tolerating those who hold differing opinions from their own.

For example- there's nothing wrong with holding the opinion that growing dreadlocks as a spiritual journey is silly... there's also nothing wrong with believing that it is a journey that hold a deeper significance. The line gets blurred when one camp ridicules the other. Free speech means that one must be able to feel safe about expressing him/herself with the reasonable expectation that they will not be subjected to ridicule or attack.

Conversely, excessive whining threatens free speech as well. Sometimes some folks just need to get a thicker skin and not whine and complain about something that boils down to someone's opinion. If you don't like the opinion, then fine... but adding to the chaos by spreading negativity about relatively innocuous comments by members you don't like. Just fucking ignore them... make yourself a whining nuisance and you might find yourself unable to access the forum.... to protect your delicate feelings from a member who has the unmitigated gall to hold a fucking opinion that differs from yours.

The moderators are doing the best they can to preserve this forum for you but it strikes me that you may well not actually want a dreadlocks forum if you can't be cooperative at least to the extent of being civil with one another and keeping complaints and discussions about the moderating off the discussion boards.

I imagine therefore that few will be surprised to see this topic closed.
