My bad. I certainly would not want to get you kicked off the swim team. But I cannot in good conscience buy beer for someone. Maybe some Orange juice. You could add the vodka.
i see you have the same sort of thinking as i do about cigarettes then? i don't buy them for anyone...
I work for Oxfam which is the biggest NGO/charity in the UK. Before, I've volunteered for a few different charities. I donate clothes. And I buy most of my books from charity shops. I don't give money directly that often, I always preferred donating my time instead.
Very rarely do you find me dropping money into jars. I will however hand over cash to anybody who asks for it. Never ask them why they need it or give them a hard time. The way I see it if they're willing to humiliate and humble themselves every day for that money, they're earning it. They're salesmen of sorts. Selling pity and stories. Beggars get shit from all kinds of people who do not give them any money, so why should I give them grief with the money? I find and make more money every day. I have no call to be stingy with it.
I give money away all the time... I would donate bigger sums if I had more money... For now I just have to settle with volunteering in a hospital and making really small donations.
That is ok. He said he already made your donation for the Gay Pride Parade. You guys are so good to each other, no?
I was on the way to the store to buy some nyquil tonight. No cold, I just like to knock myself out when I've gotten the weeks work done. So I talked to this guy, told him I had gotten off work. He asked me if he knew where he could find work. So I went back here, wrote down a temp service which I got my job through, and brought him dinner left overs and gave him the 50 cents I had in my pocket, and told him to call 211. I can't really talk about charity one day, then see a guy homeless and not do anything within 24 hours.
i tell people how to lose weight - for free when i could be making millions and millions on the intawebz thats my charity
I make people feel so awful about themselves that it forces them to change. Or to commit suicide. Either way I'm doing the world a free service.
I donate some money monthly to a food bank that uses the money to buy food for mothers and their children.
