i've read a lot about this and watched a lot of shows about it. i don't know if it's necessarily fair for a person who didn't actually pull a trigger or stab someone to be in jail for life just for convincing others to do it. but charles manson is definitely someone you don't want out walking around free. he should maybe be in a mental institution, a very secure one. he is a very intelligent man, but also a very insane man. the only one of them i personally think should be allowed parole is leslie van houten. they have all, but manson i believe, showed remorse for what they did, but actions that tex watson, patricia krenwinkel, and susan atkins took i think deserve life in prison. leslie didn't kill anyone herself from what i understand. and, out of those who have shown remorse, i really only believe that patricia and leslie are being genuine. that's just my personal opinion from seeing interviews with them all.
I totally think that he should have gone to prison, just because he didn't kill anyone doesn't mean that he didn't play a big part. I don't know that much about him but it was his cult/gang and he took 'credit' for a lot of their acts I thought that the reason he never gets parole is because he uses his parole hearings as a place to air his views in public rather than actually discuss his rehabilitation?
