When I get home from work at night (which I'm embarrassed how good it feels to say that ) I've been passing out 45 min to 1 1/2 hrs! I worked 4 days last week and am scheduled for 5 this week.

EVERY single morning I've been woken up between 5:30 and 6:00am by damnshitting hollering ass-down-leg sciatic nerve pain...5 - 5 1/2 hours sleep. I found lying down later will bring back that "special feeling".

I love LOVE to sleep...but I'm up now, sans ass/leg pain, and I quite enjoy visiting my peeps from around the globe. :2thumbsup:

but still, yay for character building.

I turned 57 last month, and even if I'm sort of falling apart in some ways, I also feel like I've gained clarity I never had.

I'm writing a paper on the (in)effectiveness of international aid when it comes to actually improving the health outcomes of the people that it is supposed to help. Fun stuff.

I briefly mentioned in passing that I was a libra when a number of other sl peeps were talking about being libra. don't know why I don't really talk about it/tell it...I think its because discussing birthdays has been practically a taboo subject around here for years. lol

Two really good facts about McDonalds:

I get paid every week, on Monday. (Monday has long been my favorite day of the week to do/get stuff, meaning any kind of stuff.)

They give me an actual paycheck, as opposed to every other week and on a card.

 

Does mc Donald's have insurance or a 401k ? I had heard a few years ago that McDonald's benefits are good...just wondering if it it true.

A type of insurance was mentioned at the 1st orientation. There will a 2nd "orientation", is how they worded it, about 6 weeks after we've been there. The thing is, when they very briefly went over it, it sounded too cheap to be real. If I understood correctly they said $20/month. :2thumbsup:

I guess its to weed out those that don't work out...not have to go through all that for the really short-termers.

There is a build up of vacation days and I think something else, perhaps a 401K.

So, I consider it amazingly good for a fast-food chain.

I feel like I've been very lucky in finally, at Long Last, finding work with a truly good group of people to work with...took long enough in this long, strange journey I've had.
