Hubby is going for an Upper GI Endoscopy. He is so tense about it. He said he's more worried about not feeling well after. He's worried that I can't take care of my grandkids and their homework like he can.

His ego is way fucking over inflated.

I'm pissed but I have to bite my tongue when dealing with someone who is...weaker minded.

    Truth.

    That's all.

    Thank you for listening.

I can hardly walk. Pretty sure it is a swollen lymph node.
Pretty sure its the cats fault.
Pretty sure i should go see a doc if there is no home remedies online.

Pen, be careful with that. Hubby got bitten by a cat that carried cat scratch fever. His hand swelled to the size of a softball and he had to go get an antibiotic shot for 5 mornings in a row.

I got scratched in the cuticle and had to go get an antibiotic shot and a course of oral antibiotics.

Pretty sure fuck the home remedies, save them for things you can afford to have not work.

Don't lose a limb, or worse, over saving a doc trip.

Just read that it goes away after about a month. Which ia the same amount of time it takes antibiotics to work.

Pens, you don't want an infection like that to go systemic...i.e. sepsis.

    Be careful.

Watch for the tell-tale sign of red streaks moving toward your heart.

    Are you diabetic?

Booked our tickets to calgary to visit my wife's aunt at the end of april. it will be a nice break... school is crazy right now and I seem to have no free time until then.

writing a short essay this morning... hoping to scratch out a rough draft by noon so that I can move on to other things.

Hubby is done with the endoscopy. No problems observed except slow stomach emptying that the doc thought is probably due to the pain meds.

There will be a stomach emptying study done next month.

That's good. It must be very frustrating to have to go through all of these tests and procedures.

I'm feeling very introspective today... I've been writing a paper in which I'm reflecting on the reasons that I choose to serve others (by volunteering, by training for a career in the social services, donating to non-profits, etc.). It is kind of interesting to think about. Are my intentions noble, or am I doing it to make myself feel better? To assuage guilt that stems from being born into a position of privilege? I think it is because I see the good in everyone... but maybe it is self-serving. Or does it even matter, if the end result is positive?

If it benefits others then it is a worthwhile cause. We are an odd lot in that we question if we feel good after doing something if it is then done for the right reasons. We should feel good doing for others. :)
