Occupy has been persecuted by the Media. I was protesting yesterday and nobody even cared besides the people who were participating. The people in their cars we're just mad they couldn't get home to drink themselves to sleep. It was pretty cool though we went through city hall and started chanting :2thumbsup:

 

that doesn't mean you're being persecuted, it means that nobody gives a shit about what you're doing. possibly because they disagree with you ideologically, or that they disagree that this form of protest will accomplish anything, or maybe they're just pissed off that you're in their way when they're on their way to pick up their kids from daycare...

 

Uh huh. I don't really agree with the form of protesting either but yesterday was pretty spectacular. It's estimated that 20,000 people attended the NY rally

Side Note: Although occupy has been looked at as socialist i still think it holds some value. Not really begging for jobs but for equality in the overall society. The division between classes is growing, it's cool that you guys think it's just about getting a job and dealing with life but some of us want some political reform. The people in a position of power aren't really workling for the average american anymore, they are being bought out by corporate lobbyists. (70% of the protestors have jobs)

 

And what did they accomplish yesterday on this "mayday protest" nothing. All the protesters are just gonna go back to doing nothing today, sitting around not looking for jobs and crying that they don't have one. And it will be the same thing for the next protest, go stand in the fucken streets and chant some stuff, break some windows and than nothing happens. Go get some fucking jobs and stop bitching at the government for all your own problems.

 

you guys should be replying in a different thread if you have a valid point about occupy....the occupy movement is all about the little guy...and for you people to say that jobs are widely available is ridiculous....fucking macdonalds had a job fair and got 20,000 applicants for 1800 jobs,,,,,,do you think its fair that buddy is laid off after 20 years because walmart only buys from china now...so buddy is an engineer with a degree but he is 50 so even macshits wont hire him....come on guys..egg,,,dont you work for your dad?

 

Correct. Sometimes, they are "plants"; other times they are groups like Blac Bloc Anarchists.

The Occupy Movement itself, was conceived to be, and continually focuses on being a peaceful protest.

 

I've said nothing about my personal opinion on the protests/actions. I agree with the general premise of occupy.
