Okay... that really deserves a;

 

Its like taking a firetruck out when there is no fire.. its called preventive maintenance. there is no guarantee the truck will start when there is snow,, or a fire... :devil:

 

Yeah, that doesn't fly for an argument... any further then you could throw one of those sidewalk cleaners.

They are causing damage (wear and tear) on both the machines and the sidewalks, not to mention the cost of the time and fuel.

If they were maintained and stored for the summer properly, they should only need to fuel it up and drive it across the garage to make sure it all works properly.

 

those are city employees...they are exempt from the common sense laws

I see exactly the same all the time here...except they at least raise the blades and call it a "practice run" to discover hazards/problems that may occur

Add to that the fact that there is corruption up at the political level and a crumbling infrastructure that is constantly being re-built by construction companies who are paying the mafia and you have a hell of a city.
