One thing I noticed about home repair contractors... The new "quality" is quick and dirty. They are all doing it, cutting corners, cheap materials, sloppy construction techniques. A home owner saying "I'm not paying until I'm satisfied" is likely to cause them to not take the job... Word gets around too. Pitch a bitch and likely nobody will even show up for estimates for the next bit of work you need done.

It sucks but this is the way things are going...

My brain is trying to sabotage me again, and I'm really trying not to let it (this makes me sound a lot crazier than I am). Just have to make it through the week, and then we're taking a much needed week-long vacation.

I have to agree with you in that today many who are hired do not appear to really care about quality of work. There are still some excellent trades people but finding one is sometimes difficult. To pay for a sub-par job is irritating to say the least and yet often times there are very few options for not doing so.

 

Well, Rolling, the big deal was that it was expensive and I was not happy....I will try to get a photo later when it stops drizzling out there.....

I think pine...The work was good, but the color is not what I picked....and I do like these people and how they work, so i will not be bitching to them about it. Will need them again for snow plowing and other things....

 

I think that I would vote Green if I lived in Guelph. Too bad the candidate here is not someone I would want representing me in Queen's Park.

depends on where you live. in my riding it seems like the ndp candidate is more likely to win than the liberal. unfortunately, it won't matter because it is almost guaranteed that we will go pc. blah.
