The problem is a lot of people make 1 post asking for drugs then get upset no one hooks them up. That is what makes it "not friendly" I guess since drugs are discussed here.

Medical weed is being discussed here in SC a great deal. I'm highly doubtful it will pass for a while. Although I have been surprised by the number of older people (my age and older!) stating outright it should be legal. The immense amount of good it has done helping people deal with chemo, radiation and overall side effects of cancer cannot be denied. That is what the older ones have been talking about. Of course it helps with PTSD and anxiety (when it doesn't cause anxiety lol)...but the great physical side effects it yields for the cancer patients is the biggest thing that older people down here are excited about.

Of course, I'm speaking of what I've been reading on facebook on my crimebeat pages. lol

I don't say a word on those particular threads because I know they do background checks, and I have no interest in bringing attention to myself and my love of weed. Its now been 20 yrs since my last simple possession...and yet SLED will always have my ass listed as having "drug charges.".

I do enjoy taking the opportunity every now and then to talk about Big Pharma's pills and alcohol are okay BECAUSE THEY ARE LEGAL, RIGHT? Just as long as you don't take 'em together...what the hey?!?

When these rapists and child murderers are getting sentenced to a few months to a few years, it pleases me to say that dang if they had a little weed on them, THEN the justice system might be interested in giving that criminal some Real Time. smh

 

I moved my pool match half an hour earlier today which helps me out on time because or else I'd be waiting for half an hour twiddling thumbs.

Sadly people in CO still have their prior to legal weed charges too. It was illegal at the time so it sticks. I'm also not happy about employers still drug testing citing federal law. Oh so you don't wish to follow the laws of the state you conduct business in? I see.

 

I don't know how I feel about that I mean an employer, a business, should have every right to deny employment if they don't want their employees on drugs regardless of state laws.

It's not illegal to drink, but you can't drink on the job, and highly frowned upon to come to work drunk, right?

At some point there has to be responsibility for your own life you can't just keep blaming the government and laws, if you wanna smoke dope and get drunk all the time and can't get a job because of it well that's not the employers problem, nor is their responsibility.

Their responsibility lays within the foundations of success and work, why should they have to employ people they deem problematic and therefore detrimental to their own business?

Perfect example was the Denver Broncos orginasation when weed was legalized in Colorado, came out said something like this;

"Just because marijuana has now been legalized in our state of Colorado, don't think that any of you are going to be playing football if you've been smoking". And rightly so, too. As a flurrishing business, they don't need players on drugs like any business don't need their employees on drugs if they don't want them to be.

I smoke drugs, I drink too y'all know this. But if I ever had a business, despite my own personal habit I can guarantee you, I'd not want these low life stoner junkies working for me I don't care what the laws are I don't care what the personal feelings or opinions are, I wouldn't want drug fucks under my employment.

Most of us probably smoke weed where I work but it's not like a huge profiting job where our skills or lack of because of drugs really effect anything to do with where I work. If our drivers or workers though are caught on drugs driving, drink driving or have an accident at work while under the influence you bet my owner would sack them, and he knows we smoke drugs but that's not the point, he lets us have our chance, but it's our responsibility, not his.

 

Oregon has some really good, serious people in their government. They have made the dispensaries stop recording people's ids and such so that there is no record of purchases for recreational use for the feds to use against anybody. lol

I think that is so clever and funny that their government LOVES all that money and the fact that the cannabis industry brings jobs.

What I don't understand is that ALL states wouldn't want this lucrative business to be legal.

I think the answer about employers drug testing for weed is to find a job that doesn't test ...or learn how test clean and make sure you won't have to worry about random testing. JUST KIDDING... no I think there will always be government jobs that will test and other jobs that deal with operating machinery or driving that will also always test. However, I do think that gradually other kinds of jobs won't waste time with it unless there is an accident on the job.

 

I dont think my company cares I use cannabis.. Im sure they know, but since I dont smoke coming to work, and do my job well. I dress proper, clean shaven all the time. Since i took my vacation during 420, because Ive some things to do. not like they will even pay attention to the date. Cannabis convention tomorrow.. looks like i have to take my gf now .. when first she had to work also. but now she has off on Fridays. whoa is me..

 

Yeah that's pretty much like us. Like I said, he knows we are on drugs that's the like business really and the turnover of staff, you don't really work in a hostel environment hoping to earn a fortune it's the relaxed environment and lack of pressure that's rewarding.

Actually our underling policy for recreation drug use is: don't come to work if you're intoxicated or inebriated by drugs and alcohol. Or, even if you're hungover don't come to work. Hungover is actually more frowned upon than being high because when you're hungover you're usually not in the mood and that shows out to our guests which we don't want.

Now, if you consistently ring in too drink too stoned too hungover I'm sure you'd get a talking to, but we have a really good work culture so it's fun to be at work and that's the point of it anyway.

It's our drivers and travel workers that are under the most scrutiny and pressure but it's not like our boss actually takes a blood alcohol or drug reading, just if you get pulled over and found guilty, boss will come down hard. Already told us all, don't expect to keep your job, especially hired drivers if you don't have a lisence you don't have a job. So it stems back to our own responsibilities. Do you want to get tanked and drive tomorrow morning, or do you want your job intact? That's really it right there for me.

I am special though so I think I'd be one of the few to keep my job if I got caught driving high or something. I got a missus to drive me around anyway when I drink and smoke, a good responsible choice of mine.

I do actually understand the unfairness behind it all, just at the same time I can completely understand why companies don't want their employees on drugs, no matter how docile or innocent the drug or person on the drug is while on it. I think it's unfair to challenge a private profitable company and make them comply to such a retarded notion such as "no, you have to take drugged workers in your employment program".

All it takes is that one idiot to have an accident on the job and then it ruins it for everybody, it's always the way. For work health and safety policies, I don't see how being on drugs can be positive.
