yeah, i've seen that video before... it is definitely something that should be researched, but one guy saying that he cured his cancer with weed (two if you count tommy chong, i guess) isn't really enough to convince me. if the results were that drastic (doesn't he say that it cured skin cancer in 4 days?) i really doubt that we wouldn't have heard of tens of thousands of cases of cannabis curing cancer by now.

very interesting. i wonder what will happen in states where it has been legalized... might see some more research if it means that there is money to be made.

 

That's the problem. There is more money to be made by keeping it illegal. Imagine how much money big pharma and privatized prisons will lose every year when weed is legalized.

 

there is also money to be made by making it legal though, it's not like the alcohol and tobacco companies are hurting.

tobacco is soo harmful and marijuana has soo many benefits
it doesnt make sense that cigarettes are legal and causing health problems
and marijuana is illegal (in most places) when it cures health problems .

 

Truth. I think one of the main things that has delayed full-legalization is that the government hasn't figured out exactly how to maximize their profits, because it would be hard to regulate and tax marijuana if it was COMPLETELY legal(sales, possession, personal cultivation, etc.). I'm certain it will be legalized during my lifetime though, as long as something unforeseen happens to me and I die within the next few years, which is very possible. lol As long as it's completely legal before I die, and I know millions/billions of people will benefit from it with no legal problems, then I can die a happy TNS:sifone:

 

no but prison is big business... and pharma is even bigger.... why legalize something to make less money...

 

i think that when it goes through here (and i think there is a good chance it will after our next federal election) it will most likely be something where home cultivation is still illegal and you have to buy it from companies approved by the government, which is basically what the new changes to our medical marijuana laws are. still shitty, but better than nothing i guess.

i'd like to see people able to grow 6 plants at home, or some other similar number. if you let people grow huge amounts, they're just going to keep selling it in a grey market that avoids taxation (which is the argument i think will be used against home cultivation).
