    coming from you that is high praise......:)

    getting the outside fire ready to start boiling when I have enough in a day or 2

    kinda realized I don't have a 60 gallon drum so I may need to buy one

    as i understand it tapping trees is heavily dependent on a specific weather pattern, temps during day vs night, and i dont think i can do that here. if it can be done its probably very inefficient. so im jealous :) our weather changes drastically, there is no gradual warming. we get the most snow in march and april, most of the time, and in between snows we have freezing nights and 70* days. its snowing now, and it supposed to be in the upper 60s on wednesday. i will have better luck with bees.

    had to start boiling sap....there's so much and I don't have many more containers...........put 20 liters on the wood stove to at least start boiling it off

    My chimney guy makes maple syrup... 40 gallons of sap makes 1 gallon of syrup. Happy boiling. :p

    Nope... but he does look a little bit like VanDyke in a vague sort of way.

    He actually builds and repairs masonry chimneys although also does cleaning services for those that don't do it themselves. We put in solid stainless liner in for the furnace chimney... He gave me a jug of the syrup, the real deal.
