after my accident...about 5 days....I mentioned to the dude besid me that I hadn't peed yet....he then told me I been peeing all week into a bag down the side of my bed

I was more than a little surprised to then look under the covers to see where that tube was leading

I figured its gonna lead to a disgusting hole in my side somewhere.......

.nope....right into the ol pecker.....goddamned was I shocked....:)

ah, the catheter. been there done that. hoping i dont have to do that again.

i was delirious, fever, blood pressure dangerously high. my kidneys and liver were shutting down, forcing the emergency c-section, but i fought for my life afterward.
no one told me i nearly died, not for 3 years. i would have rather known the severity of what i was facing at the time.

my dad sliced his forearm open. wrapped it in a towel and drove himself to the hospital. pretty sure hes a mutant.

hands down, dilaudid is the BEST pain reliever in existence, short of death. I guess that is why now-a-days you have to be just barely short of death or have a compound fracture (bones sticking out through your skin) to get any in the US. OR you can have scads of money or be famous, and probably get hold of it as wanted, not necessarily needed.

Did you have toxemia, ML? Or is it called preclampsia (spelling?)...or are both of those things the same. I just know that it can literally kill an expectant mother and the child....

Living here it costs SO MUCH to ride in an ambulance, I would definitely have driven myself to the hospital when I broke my ankle if I could have. If your dad doesn't have a manual drive, I can certainly understand him driving himself.

After this dingdang flipped-out busy night at work, and the STRANGE changes that are taking place there, I feel like I could be a mutant (if there was a need for one). :p :D

I wanted to tell you, ROLLING, this in its own separate post :)...my thoughts (and prayers) are going out for your nephew with the broken bones.

Poor lil fella he had to have gone through something (awful :( )to get 2 bones broken in his leg, and 1 the largest, sturdiest bone.

One good thing is that young people heal better, faster and adapt more easily to things like that.

i think it was preeclampsia. not really 100% sure though. i know my doc sent me to the hospital because i had too much protein in my urine. they got me in, adminitstered the baby-lung-booster steroid, and then a couple of days later, basically just enough for the steroid to work, my other organs started to fail. they were born at 34 weeks. 4 lbs 5 oz, and 4 lbs even. and i kept spiralling. i think one of my blood pressures was 120+, so that must be diastolic. i was in a bad way.

and my dad doesnt believe in driving an automatic. hes only ever driven manuals. my mom has an automatic because its easier with her old elbow injury. like i said. mutant. he was cutting a frozen tub of something, toward himself, and laid open 6-8 inches of his inner forearm. hes lucky he didnt hit anything important.

there is a giant mound of laundry and other assorted crap on my bed that has to be dealt with before sleep can happen, so im gonna do that, and see you guys in the AM.

OMG! That has me with a HUGE :D thinking about your dad driving himself to the hospital in a manual (lordhavemercy!!!) with a laid-open forearm.

    I'd do the same though.

In the year 2000, at the end of a long night, I broke my arm at work (a restaurant)...told the dumbass owner I KNEW I'd broken my arm just above my wrist and he asked me if I wanted a glass of wine. I had a manual truck and I drove myself home, got up the next morning and got my mother to drive me to the hospital...hoping against hope they'd give me something for pain.

When I got snake bit (4 times the lil sob bit me) I drove myself to the hospital. :)

DEARGOD!!!! :( How in the hell did you not know you had broken bones - or at least a broken bone?!?

I've broken a 10 "serious" bones, 14 counting 4 toes...and I always knew something serious was up each time. lol Well, the 1st time I was 18, and I wasn't sure (it was my right wrist). Now I wonder how in the hell did I not realize something (WRONG) was up immediately since I was in incredible pain and there was a big ole' dip in my arm...broke 2 bones in that adventure but I got help before the night ended. :D whatevah...I don't plan on breaking any more.

    missing all kinds of shit

this place really comes in waves. way too many douches hanging around. everyone with their own set of expectations on how a giant group of strangers from all over the world are "supposed" to think and act, just because this place is the "hip"forums. christ almighty...

I kinda miss the snow. school is going well.

I sang the national anthem for a basketball championship today. had a choir concert yesterday. sang with an orchestra. the organ was so incredibly loud the floor shook.

I haven't been smoking before school anymore, and even outside of school, I take at most a hit a day. I'm doing it for tolerance, and just so I can finish the term at my best.

attempting my level change for my last time this term. got a different accompanist so it shouldn't go as badly this time

    hope everyone is well :ssmokeit:

Hipforum is doing rather well this month, we've had a number of supporters both lifetimes and yearly. Hipforum does not rank that well on the interweb but we do however pop up high on search engines. Visitors tend to stay about an hour and leave, where members tend to keep on for 4to8hours a day. Site receives about 145K visitors a day ...
Hipforum has a higher female poster content than other sites like /shroomy,rollit,mytopia,ect..

while it hurt like hell...i was able to limp enough to walk from the rink to my car and like i said, from my car uphill to my apartment. there was a bump that made me think it was sprained although i know nothing so i dont know why i would think that. and i was able to move my ankle which was right where the bump was. i knew it was possible that it was broken but didnt think it likely i would be able to carry my hockey bag and walk if it was.

edit: i asked some of the guys, "hey if i can move it that means its not broke right?" 2 or 3 guys said thats right or nodded. then one guy said no that means nothing. so i knew there was a possibility i was just hoping the one guy didnt know what he was talking about.

edit2 just remembered that was when i just bought my car. at the time it was the nicest one i ever owned...and i owned a lot up till then. didnt have it a month and i couldnt drive it. i mean i did but not to my moms house. she always freaked out when she heard i drove with the cast.
