Speaking of goats...I love goats also.

I LOVE the way they "talk" (bleat). I think I've waited on people at McD's that didn't speak nearly as clearly as I've heard goats talk, saying "YEAH!" and "NAHHHH!"

    Go goats! :2thumbsup:

Just waiting a little longer for the Turkish shop to open so i can get some milk.I need if for tea which I really need with a little sugar.I's supposed to be off the sugar because of my diabetes type 2,but you gotta live a little too right? I have massively reduced my sugar intake but sometimes I really need it.Turkish shop usually stays open all night but don't know about sunday mornings.Might get some halloumi too.Got some good sleep in but woke up around six.

I like raw cane sugar. It is dark and course but it's not at all like brown sugar.

I don't really like sugar substitutes that much they are unnaturally sweet and have a chemical taste but if I had to pick it'd be the blue packets possibly tied with the yellow packets for taste...the pink ones taste like a chemistry lab.

Stevia is only good in a few things and it's too different than sugar to be a true replacement, rather it is an alternative sweetener with it's own flavor and properties.

The yellow sucralose packets is chemically modified sugar molecules with a few chlorine atoms added:/

The blue packets are aspartame and apparently neurotoxic (to the optic nerve especially) and metabolize to methanol and aspartic acid.

The pink packets are saccharine and used to have a mandatory cancer warning as it was believed to be carcinogenic:eek:

Acesulfame K (Ace K^_^) is actually not half bad if blended with another sweetener as it usually is but it has been shown to be a possible carcinogen in rats when administered in doses equivalent to a human consuming 1,372 12oz cans of diet pop a day for 40 weeks ;) it was accidentally discovered in 1967

Glycerin is also sweet and some things are sweetened using vegetable glycerine but that mostly brings to mind things such as cough syrup :puke:

Yeah,I've just begun researching diabetes type 2 as I've only recently been diagnosed.I've been using "truvia" for my porridge (Oatmeal) which is from the Stevia leaf.It doesn't taste great but it's better than nothing, makes the porridge tolerable. (I eat porridge regularly as it is good for lowering cholesterol.) I generally take my tea and coffee without sugar anyway but sometimes I just really need a bit of sugar. The most serious thing about my condition,as you may know,is if you don't take care of your diet the blood vessels behind the retina can bleed and you can become blind...Something like that,I'm not a medical expert. But I know a couple of older people with my condition and they occasionally indulge and they seem to be doing okay.

Most of the artificial sweeteners are cut with mostly maltodextrin anyways since they are so potent...and I'm not sure if maltodextrin would affect blood sugar...it seems like it wouldn't be as bad as sugar but worse than normal slow carbs...the don't tell you which maltodextrins are in it.

There's this liquid sweetener it's sugar free and decent and shouldn't have maltodextrin since it's a liquid. You'd have to check tho on the label (or maybe get the material safety data sheet;)). I don't remember what it's called it's in the same section as all the other sugar and sugar substitutes. I think they have some sweeteners in Europe and the UK that we do t have like cyclamate cuz it apparently causes cancer but I'm pretty sure a lot of any kind of sweets is unhealthy. 1,362 cans of pop a day is bad for you no matter what sugar or no sugar I've never had that much soda in my entire life...the amount of water in that much pop would probably kill u!

So I think people are probably over concerned about people consuming kilos a day or something high blood sugar is much worse and just don't shoot it up (sweet n low). They were probably injecting some of the rats with that stuff but saccharine was made from some of the same chemicals they use in making plastics...coal tar derivatives :\ so it wouldn't surprise me if that one really was carcinogenic but apparently there are reasons why it causes cancer in rats but shouldn't in humans so they got rid of the warning label

I remember you'd see that everywhere too and people would still use it and maybe even give it to their kids even with a big label saying it can cause cancer
