Lololololol. My next door neighbour to the rear has one.
I don't think I'll be very popular when I bring a pup home.

German Shep. =] I almost bought a sable breed the other day but realised I didn't really like how they grow up with their painted look. Though I know once you get a pup you love it all the way and don't really notice the markings you don't like.

I'm curious enough to try a full black breed but I like the tanned/black ones, they've all I've grown up with and we've had over 15.

How exciting for you! GS are terrific dogs! :)

Had one once.....but had to give him to another home as he kept smashing through the glass doors of the other house.Wish I still had him. His name was Cooper.

Aww. My daddy used to train and breed them for police. =]
We've had lots. Some nice, some very dangerous. I remember preferring the failed show dogs because my folks and family were really protective over the show dogs and apparently us kids would untrain them with our friendliness lol.
Our dogs were trained by choke chain and a lot of screaming but you could place food on the floor and have it sit there frothing at the mouth for 15 minutes and they'd not eat until daddy said they could. They also won him hundreds if not thousands of ribbons and trophies. Storage boxes full of them I think daddy has now thrown most away but kept the really good ones.

I want to show dogs at some point too, maybe in a couple years I'll think about getting a show dog and really train it well.

Cooper was my first dog. I picked the GS first, and my brother then talked me into getting a pug, as that was his fav dog....so got Champy...then my brother said he wanted a son of Champy one day, so got Puki, but she could not mate, because of her genetically small heart, but she had the bggest heart of alll...used to sing with me all of the time....and she died....at age 5.....from being too hot here when I first moved to this house....with no air conditioning yet....then a year later, Moxy came along...and voila.....they multipilied seemingly overnight...and my brother still has not taken one! LOL

Aww that must have hurt, having a dog die of heat exhaustion.
If I had to have another dog I'd choose a border collie or Labrador probably. They seem like good dogs and can be taught and things. But hopefully I can just have the GS all my life. It's worked so far. =p now I just have to get it to not eat my bunnies but that should be easy enough. Could also solve my cat problem too.

Probably getting a male, Moonglow. =]
I have this thing with male animals.. My red tail shark is female and she's like a matriarch of the tank and that's all cool, I love her but then I've got my male guppies and my male fighters. Rabbits are male.. Also I'm calling my dog Führer so it has to be male. Treblinka for the female. >.>

I usually prefer male cats and dogs, too...the female dogs are more hyper.....but Puki, the female pug that died, was my love.....and Minxy here, my little female cat is my love, too....so I have had and have favorite females, as well.

Moxy is great, too, but winnie...forget about it! LOL

Most of the show dogs were male too. I definitely remember Tam and Zorya as females, Zorya I remember significantly eating the inside of the car to pieces lol and my folks were not happy with it. And Tam she was daddy's favourite next to Ben. She was very aggressive though and I remember once she caught site of another dog off she'd go and I definitely remember hearing the woods come alive with daddy's screaming at her to come back.
I don't remember this but daddy often tells me once we were walking on a golf course when I was a little girl and this guy came out of no where looking for golf balls and he got in between me and Tam and daddy says to him "HALT! Don't do it, don't you move" and he didn't listen and kept coming towards me and Tam, well apparently she launched at him, knocked him over and stood over him like a wolf. He was supposed to go and tell the officials but that obviously never happened. I don't remember her too much, just the little things. I appreciate a dog can be so loving and protective over me.
