today was that 50% off everything in the store day at work... holy shit...

It was like a DQ black friday... wtf, it's just fast food yet i've never seen to many people in a 'restaurant' waiting for 15-20 minutes in line to get shitty burgers and some ice cream...

We had to open up this second till that we never use, so we had 2 lines going, from the till to the back of the store... every single table in the place was filled, and normally only one person, usually me, works the kitchen.. but tonight there were 5-6 of us in there and still couldnt keep up with the orders

It was ridiculous, I honestly didn't except it to be that busy... and it was nonstop too, pretty much from open to close..

I wasnt even supposed to work today, but my boss called me about 4-5 different times and I ignored them all.. then he texted me a few times.. and finally I texted him back and was like "oh sorry... I just woke up" at 2pm then he begged me to come in and i'm like fuckno, I told you yesterday I'm not coming in... I have a ton of shit to do today, and you alwaays do this to me... Then he offered to pay me time and a half, so I went in :/ lol

 

thats the way to do it. your time during "time off" is more valuable.

 

i disagree respectfully...young buck has no clue what hard work is

during the build[from scratch] of phantom i went 2 months without a single day off...got to the point that we werent going home to sleep because it would take an hour of sleep away from us so we started sleeping in various places inside the theater...everyone was scoping out the best and quietest place to crash

i know...i went out this morning and did chores in the morning sunlight...all of me was sweating in 18 below except my toes because i wore my running shoes out

and tuesday wednesdy going up to 9c

is that an invite?...i have always been fscinated with texas...heres why.....

..working as a stagehand on the GM car showback in late 80s...it was the telease of the ''lumina'' series so it was quite a show they were planning...

the ''up with people'' chorus had been hired to do a whole song and dance routine...this was a volunteer type dance and singing troupe with aprox 60 young people from all over the USA..

.most were goodie goodie types...no drugs and drinking...i believe they had to sign something before going on tour each year

i managed to get one girl chatting...leesy from dallas texas..she was beautiful and one of the lead girls in the show..real talented...

my lil brother was also on the show working and he zoned in on leesy's friend..dont remember her name....anyway we offer to take these girls out to dinner that monday after the show...

my dad had connections everywhere so he arranged for us to go to a friends restaraunt to eat chinese food...the friend also owned a limo company and offered us a car free for the night..

.we arrive to p/u the girls at a private home where they billeted with locals...they were impressed with the limo...leesy was dressed to the nines and had on a big ol' possum fur coat....

we arrive at the restaraunt where we find out it was closed on mondays but dads friend had come in personally and cooked us a mega meal...a dozen courses..champagne..anything we wanted

i didnt get lucky that night other than a little kiss and the troupe pulled out of town a few days later but not before leesy gave me her ''texas'' pin which was the word texas spelled in rhinestones..i loved that pin...wore it for years till one day it fell off my coat and i lost it...been looking for another ever since

..couple weeks go by and i get a letter in the mail from leesy's mom and dad...they thanked me for showing their daughter a wonderful time and told me if i ever find myself in texas i should come by and let them return the favor with some good ol' texas hospitality....

footnote....leesy was a runner up in ''miss teen texas''


so i have always wanted to go there and get me another one of those pins...she told me they were sold everywhere in texas

have to work a 9 hour shift today alone with bartender...gonna be long day...

it shouldn't be busy, but you can't count on anything...
