Kids and guns are a bad combo. I know there are people who like to hunt and maybe want to teach their kids how to shoot, but come on....there are places for that. Running around in the backyard with 3 guns and no supervivion isn't the answer.
I dunno where you live, but in Texas, everyones armed to the teeth... Most of the rifles sold around here are Ak's and .308's, which are much better for urban sprall then the M-16 military standard. I'm not saying the government wouldn't win, but theres not going to be any you have to give up your first born child laws either.
WOOOO! if you're living way out in the boonies, there's nothign wrong with shooting in your "back yard."
My grandpa (RIP) called guns " the great equalizers," and stated that if someone had a gun on the Long island Railroad when the guy was walking down the aisle shooting everyone, many lives could have been saved. I don't have a gun, but in this country, when you know that many people do, there is some legitimacy for having one for protection.
Fictional heros usually aren't afriad to get shot, its a terrible strain on dramatic development if they die 5 minutes into the story.
Lol, if you look at the shelves at xmas almost every action fiqure has an AK 47 or similar. I even saw a product on display that had plastic, life size replicas of a Desert Eagle and a serrated combat knife. This was for children aged 3 and up! Have you seen cartoons recently? It's all about shooting people and blowing things up... Little kids are getting the taste for guns without even holding a real one.
Something tells me I wouldn't be afraid of a standard cop in England either... I can run pretty fast. "stop or I'll... Why won't you stop?!!! *weeps"
We all know how kids immatate art... My cousin turned into a giant fighting robot the other day and destroyed half of Kyoto.
quote: Have you seen cartoons recently? It's all about shooting people and blowing things up... Little kids are getting the taste for guns without even holding a real one. well, its must less prevalent than it was when i was growing up....there was generally one full aisle at the toy store with toy guns that looked real...they don't make those anymore, and another aisle of GI Joe's, fake knives and swords etc.
I find a nice lock works well. Though the amount of force we are supposed to use in this country is in the news at the moment well it was recently.. They know you have guns so they carry guns I had all that and more..cartoons the bad guys always lose and nobody actualy dies.
oh, yeah, and great big old school shutters on all the windows!! like my not having a gun is gonna stop a criminal from carrying one. whatever.
They would have you in a prison cell within minutes gun or no gun... long history of not having too use guns but still liveing in a gun culture .. i would imagine.
Yeah, you must have real quiters as robbers in the UK... "A lock?! I'm going home." Who said anything about guns? Maybe the robbers unarmed and is trying to sneak in on my grandmother while shes alone... My grandmas not so tough, but she can shoot a gun. A defenceless granny can take a 300 pound mugger if shes gotta .38
I realise if a burgular has a gun carrying a gun seems wise.. but two people carrying guns solves what ? only thing happens someone dies.. probably you. But it surely is a vicious cycle. We carry them because its in our constitution, we carry them because we hunt, we carry them because we are fearful of burgalers. The list goes on and on.. guns upon guns upon guns..something is not right with that picture.
I can run two miles in 11:40, I can outrun most cops, me thinks... If I'm in the middle of the London, it'd be easy to get somewhere where they'd have to chace you on foot. And then they have to get close to you to catch you, where you could stab them, if need be.
