so shooting some person because their after your grannies ornaments or coupons..seems fair. MM how ever vile the person might be .. the whole family of the burgular surely is not. They have one dead relative on ther hands.

i carry them specifically for hunting (rifles) and a handgun for personal protection. "right" picture or not, it's what i have, and my not having a gun doesn't exactly IMPROVE my odds. that's just silly.

Yeah, or he might strangle her.

Everybody has a right to protect themselves.... grannie using a bat aginst a fired bouncer isn't going to work.

Why not let grannie be a victim.

What'd your grandmother ever do to you.

i'm supposed to feel bad for a dead criminal's family? stealing what little bit grannie's got? violating her space, terrorizing her? that's just fucking stupid. me, i'd rather keep my gun ownership advertised and let them break into some other person's house instead.

I just wouldnt have a gun cause frankly, well, Im an idiot plan and simple and probably would be doing society a favor by not owning one :D

people shouldnt be taking peoples stuff, if your going to steal from someone, ya get whatever happens to you. You take the chance of stealing, you take the chance of them defending themselves...

i'm just particularly paranoid because our house has been broken into twice in my life, and the house of soem friends i was staying with was also broken into. and when you live in crazy drunkard town, you wanna defend yourself against a massive stupid fucker who thinks you're hot.

Advertised ? the first notion a burgular will probably have that you have a gun, is when your waving the thing in his face.. But then he may have a gun so he will be waving a gun at you .. If you don't have a gun you have a 50% chance of being dead . If you have a gun you have a 75% chance of being dead.

Bringing it down too frail old grannies is not realy fair.. Always the example used is frail old ladies or soft little kids.

Why is grannie on her own in a poorly secured home. she should be with her family...

Who points the gun first wins, its that simple, you're not going to have time to take a gun outta your pants if somebodys already pointing one at you.

If you have a gun and the burglar doesn't you win 100% of the time...

If you point the gun at the crook first, you win,

if you don't have a gun and the crook does, its 50-50

If you both have a gun, its 50-50

I don't get those statistics you just made up at all.

Hah, the granny argument really isn't fair. :D

But it does happen, what if the robber just surprised granny when the rest of the family was out shopping for her 70th birthday?

Why should granny live in fear?

guns are just like drugs, as long as your responsible then theres no problems. My dad has taken me to the shooting range many times to fire different kinds of pistols and its a lot of fun. kids shooting kids in schools and shit is the result of immature kids getitng hands on guns and thinking oh yeah payback...thats jsut fucking stupid. what happened to the days when a fishfight int he hallway could solve your problems?

I agree... in fact, I think a lot of international disputes coulda been settled if they had just broughten it to fisticuffs.

I bet billions coulda been made if Bush and Hussein just had a MMA fight on pay per view. I'da payed like $50 to see that shit.

I don't care what any of you think. I'm gonna own my gun and if/when someone breaks into my house I'm going to shoot them in the head. You shouldn't play around. If you are going to shoot, shoot to kill. I have quite a bit of experience and I'm a damn good shot. If the burglar has a gun, he better be ready to use it.

As for children... I think a child should be a certain age before they are able to be in control of a gun. Yes, teach them, but don't give them a gun. They should also always be supervised. There is no reason why a child should not be educated on gun use. Around here people take their children hunting with them at such young ages. That may or may not be a good thing. I won't ever take my children hunting, but thats because I don't hunt. I have a gun for two reasons.. to kill if the need ever arrises and because I like to target shoot.

I know exactly what you are saying, i dont own any guns either. Kids definately should not have them. I had a friend once who was shot in the stomach with a 22, one of his other freinds had the gun and triped over a telephone cord, bumped the triger and of course it went off. The doctors told him if the bullet would have went a quarter inch higher, he wouldn't have lived. I cant stand these people who turn there kids loose with such things. Just plain stupid.
