The Pixies played a gig in Chile last night, they just announced on facebook that they played 33 songs, one for each of the miners.
BBC email on overspend on the Chilean mine rescue | Media ... Chile miners reporting by BBC squeezes coverage of other events G20, Nato and climate summits, and even the Oscars ceremony coverage could be trimmed as Chile miners broadcast bill tops £100,000, says BBC memo.
How about that ridiculous play on words with the Miracle at the Mine instead of the Miracle of the Marne Hotwater
Somebody dropped the ball on that one...dd they really need to send 26 people to Chile to report on one story? Let's hope no more news happens this year because the BBC can't afford to report it...
No. They do seem to like to send way too many people to events. They sent 400 staff member to cover Glastonbury. I know one story they probably won't be reporting on any time soon.
I was watching the BBC news last night, and was thinking that they do seem to send a lot of reporters out to places. But, that's the BBC for you
I think it is because they think they have to have the well known faces on the various news programmes, and some of the grunts for local TV etc. They will say it is because of the nature of 24 hour news etc etc blah blah blah. It wouldn't be so bad, but they repeat themselves endlessly. There really wasn't any need to keep that many people out there for that long. Oh well, it's only tax payers money... If I was to be fair...mmm, nagh, I'll not be fair this time.
We don't only have to work to support ourselves any more, we have to pay for MPs, broadcasting, the Pope, the Royals. Lucky us!
The list is nearly endless. Don't we work for about 3-4 months before we earn any money that is actually ours? Jeez, I've actually managed to depress myself.
if youre that close to the dudes office,, Might as well ask him for some favors, like a better job...
I've had plenty of compliments today, so I don't need yours... Although, I wouldn't complain if you did
