    Sounds like you've been having too many depressing political conversations with me lately. :)

    For the U.S., the 'tax freedom day' has been around the middle of April since the 1970s (the time when you've worked to pay off all your taxes). Amusingly, that's near April 15th, tax day.

    That day has been earlier in recent years because of tax breaks.
