i consider myself an atheist... i study mahayana and lately more into theravada buddhism... but I dont really consider myself buddhist in the fact that I do not agree with some points of buddhism(enlightenment), i consider it more of a hobby and interest... besides buddhism is so open, does not tell you what to believe... like you have to believe a god, have to abstain from drugs and sex... its more like suggestions and understanding life.

 

The way you were making fun of it, I concider it mocking. Then again, you've never had a covenant, so who can blame your poor soul and dead spirit?

You've never witnessed the power of God, obviously, maybe you need to go to a pentecostal church!

what is catholic=any christian supposed to mean... i understand that christians have lots of different sects... and there are lots of different opinions christians share about the bibles interpretations.

I've witnessed the power of god, for his followers control everything around me... i know the wealth of the churches... at least. The word "God" is very powerful. God is often used to justify war... hitler claimed he was sent on a mission by god! So has george bush... and sense the bible states ye should hail to the king.... hail away... not for me though, no thanks.


Which brings up a good point: Why care about my thoughts? I'm damned to eternal hellfire.

you suggest i am maleducated in buddhism? Rubbish. What would spur these thoughts? I used to consider myself buddhist, and I went to learn at the national buddhist organization in NY when I was 16. Been studying it sense 7th grade.... but when I was about 17 I realized that there were flaws in its teaching, like most things... went to persue my own beliefs.. here I am now.
and yes, i will keep studying.

Most people believe christianity=catholicism, that's the stareotypical view. And IMO, Catholic churches are very boring, IMO. No presence of the Holy Ghost whatsoever.( sorry if I offend any catholics, but this is just my oppinion)

Muslims are the ones that kill 'in the name of God (Allah) ', Christians don't. And those people in the crusades weren't Christians...they didn't even know the Bible back then, they were just manipulated by the Catholic Church.

Christians also do... and have done sense the beginnings of christianity.. are you to say that the first few hundreds of years... that those christians were not true christians? Those that knew jesus closer than any of us?

actually people were not very educated about religion or anything else for that matter back then...people today have more knowledge..and back in the day you were made to belive the church or you would die..that simple..so of course people would agree.

Those weren't true christians. Those crusades were done in the middle ages, - a LONG time after Jesus existed. They didn't know him, they were, just like I said, brainwashed by the catholic church, and didn't even know the Bible, - it was in Latin, Hebrew and Greek back then.

 

What makes the catholic curch booring and are you saying that all those popes and religious leaders such as the famous Martin Luthter were not christians because they did say the fought in the name of God/Christ?

 

so christianity has only existed up to lately because they have stopped using their religion to attack others with. you argue that they have become real christians instead of the hypocrites of the past.. In ending war in the name of god, you have made yourself perfect christians? I think there is way more hypocricy and double standards than the simple, going to war in the name of God... so many people claim to be like jesus, yet honestly, not one of you remind me of him.
