Open response (not directly to Xac): And what is the foundation of earth? Is it a literal foundation, an idea (love/agape), or a person, Christ?

hmmm... that is what immediately jumped into my brain while I read that.

If i am not upsetting you, why are you choosing to believe i think God's hand is short? I gave you two choices and you choose that one? Why not assume that i believe God wants the earth to end?

Your being argumentative and not very clever, if you want to continue this 'discussion' in an accusatory fashion fine, i will not participate because it is a waste of time talking to a thick head set in stubborn ways.

Once again someone with a failed argument turns to the last resort of failed arguments, Naming Calling.

    Peace upon you,

Thats fine, i am happy calling you a stubborn thick head if you are going to be thick headed and stubborn in your assumptions.

I will not bother discussing with some one philosophical topics if they choose to misinterpret what i have said, you have accused me of calling God's hand short twice (over two posts) and fail to see the other side of the coin because it hurts your argument... how is that not stubborn or thick headed?

Actually a person can be as stubborn and thickheaded as they want but calling a person so does not prove or disprove that person’s arguments so calling a person such is pointless and a logical fallacy.
How in the world did I misinterpret what you've said? Three times, you stated as fact, the end or death of the earth and twice the sun ending.

All I’ve done is point out that, if God does not want the sun or earth to die they never will. How in anyway can that be misconstrued as misinterpreting what you’ve said?

As for saying that saying that you are calling God’s hand short in this matter. It is you that has misread. Yes. I did say that you were calling God’s hand short but only once and only after you had seemingly ignored what I had said about God’s ability to sustain the earth forever, if he so wanted and you had continued to say that the end of the earth was inevitable.

So once again peace upon you,
    OWB

i think it totally depends on the context. the world could end naturally by an ice age or global warming or something. my question is, what are the chances of the big guy making an appearance? this right here should settle the debate! too bad i wont be alive to say i told ya so!

To answer your question; what are the chances of the big guy making an appearance? The chances are nil. nada, zip, zero. The Bible says no man can see God and live. Seeing as God does not want any to die, he will not put in an appearance. But that does not mean that he will let mankind destroy himself, it just means he doesn't have to appear to mankind to do so.

Seeing that my nihilism has turned to a good mood: I proclaim (in other words, my self-consciousness sceptically receives the Faith) that all my dead ancestors have turned into mush; and God will be the Blob for that.

As a Christian, I find it most interesting that you know of 2012, and express an interest in it. Most people - so called Christians And others- find the subject of 2012 beyond them. As far as Revelation goes, I actually am quite educated and it is quite difficult to find within the theological community people who agree on what Revelation means. Besides, you (cleverly) left out the big Rev - it was others that had to bring it in.
I think this earth will end ,as we know it - and that Something Big is slated to happen 2012. We are just starting now. The closer we get, the crazier it's gonna get. The huge amount of natural disasters ("rolling of the oceans", among the earthquakes is mentioned, I think) is already happening.

Christians have believed they were in the end times since the day their religion began some 2,000 years ago. It's one of the pillars of their belief system. The doomclock is still ticking- 2 millenia and still waiting.

I believe that to..we are in a a transistion..the world has progressed so quickly in the last 100 years..in the last 100 years there have been over 100,000,000 people who have died in wars..more than all of history combined..there are many, many other reason..look at these scriptures here and what Jesus said:

While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”

4 And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU; 5 for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6 YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet.

7 “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.

9 “Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation and will kill YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name. 10 Then, also, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and mislead many; 12 and because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off. 13 But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. 14 And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

The Bible says that a 1000 years is but a day in God's eyes, so that would mean, that to God it was only the day before yesterday that he said the world would end today.

I think that verse is implying that time is insignificant to God, not that 1000 years literally equals 1 day to him.
