you know, i never would try, i had a bad feeling in my gut that it would not go good, and i'd go all blair witch 2: you know, cheap video, poor acting and a generally lame approach to horror with only a slghtly interesting nudity scene that's all too brief.
miracle healing water.........shit, it's been awhile since i've watched that late-night religious infomercial. now it's all Miracle Blade and Memory Foam mattresses.
That sounds like a cop out to me... it sounds to me like you're more than happy to point out the fact that there are others worse off than myself and Libertine here, but are you going to do anything about it? Sure, i'll admit that my request for money was out of greed, but that does not change the fact that I asked for it, therefore your lord commands you do as I ask. However, you know what, I'll be more than happy to widthdraw my request for £20 a month PROVIDED you donate the money to charity (and I want proof) that sounds fair, right? As a good christian, both helping the poor and needy, as well as completing my request, as jesus told you to do. I think that a charity looking for a cure to AIDS would be best.. thank you.
Update: So far I haven't had a single Christian, save one, offer to send me the $20. All I have heard are excuses, "interpretations" and watched people ignore the thread out of fear of having to actually obey Jesus' command. Thanks DuskBreeze for your offer of sending me the $20. So far, you seem to come closest to fitting the bill of obeying Jesus. And by the way, I am not asking out of greed, no. I have a $6000 hospital bill (I can fax you the total bill amount) that a collection agency is breathing down my throat--threatening to sue me. My wife lost a baby back in 2004 when we had NO insurance. What was I to do? Go to the hospital and have the surgery performed on her to remove it or let her die from infection? I choose to go to the hospital. She lived, the baby didn't. Now I owe $6000 and she was out of work for 3 months. Sob story? Hardly. I am just asking for the money from those followers of Jesus.
I don't sink so low as to insult people, Christian or no. Thanks for revealing your true character "ImFuzzyNuts."
Hi Libertine, don't take it as aggression but, there are something like 5 billions of people on earth who don't recognize themselves as christians. Most of them don't advertise it. Why do you do so? You think you have to accomplish your duty and try to save those believers?
I have a right to express myself. I like to exercise my rights. Christians and other macro-cults are based on CONVERSIONS and scaring the shit out of people. My job is to corrupt people with the idea of individual sovereignty and freedom. And unlike most Christians who fail to convert even one person, my record stands for itself.
That's cool you're helping Libertine. I myself found my insurance DID NOT cover what we thought and we're stuck with an $18000 bill for my wife's medically necessary (she was at risk of dying) gallbladder removal. I can sympathize with Libertine.
World of Dan: "Why" express my interrogation, in a way I feel interested, cuz I believe all of us think we don't totally waste our time here... So Libertine must know what he is doing, I hope... Don't think I judge anybody Libertine: I know that answer a "why" question can take a while, actually I was asking you to say more... I don't understand where you want to lead the thread, by Libertine: "My job is to corrupt people with the idea of individual sovereignty and freedom." That one is funny, and there are many reasons (or interpretations) for it, I find it funny cuz to me, one of our major problem is individual sovereignty and supposed freedom, which leads us ot a world where people think they can own part of the universe, as if it was so natural I think you answered me at the simple level, I do really respect your right to express yourself, and actually I am reading you, feel happy! Don't you think you told me you are doing the same mistake those believers and proselitist do? Or did I miss the point?
I was raised in a christian family, and I never felt threatened by damnation... You recognize people should think like you or did I miss the point?
People can think as they want. It's when they think I should think as them that I get kind of PISSED. I offer my philosophy as an alternative, not as a commandment laced with a false promise or choice between netherworlds.
i would like to insert here that there are many groups of christians who don't believe in fiery torture and eternal damnation. they just believe that when you die, if you're not a christian, your soul just ceases to exist, and that's hell. death forever, instead of eternal life. so, even as an atheist, you're really not being offered something heinous or awful, just what you currently expect at the end of your existance.
Well, it is obviously more extensive than I can explain in one post and covers a multitude of areas but I can give a basic summary: THINK FOR YOURSELF. QUESTION AUTHORITY. CHALLENGE ASSUMPTIONS. Freedom is being free to do what you will, so long as it does not interfere or coerce with someone else's freedom.
