I really don't agree with the war because of the benefit and links and ties with the oil industry, though I would probably just say the same as Trevor if we weren't so involved overseas in the Middle East, at the moment...

That and groups like Al Qaeda and the IRA (Northern Ireland) mixing extreme ass-backwards politics and religion... as well as causing the US and its allies to make itself appear the same (God knows we've all made a contradiction or been a hypocrit, but you don't know what you've got till it's gone).

Yeah it does seem kinda like a hypocritical thing to do. Some folks feel they have no other choice because they want to do certain things but money/security becomes more important than sticking to one's prinicipals. Hm. Interesting. I've never been not happy my brother got out of the service just before baby bush's people started all this madness. I had nightmares of him getting shipped off to the middle east then Officers coming to the door.

There are other means to live a dream yet still honor your country w/o having to do something like sacrifice your life for someone's gain; dipping your hands in innocent's blood or being brainwashed into military thinking (i.e. we are proud to do this 'cause its helping people)

I'm of the opinion that helping people comes from volunteer work in groups fighting for those rights not going to their country and adding to the conflict.
