I'll try. But every tiime I've tried to contact TS he's not answered my emails. It is my understanding that you don't have to have knowledge of an active warrant. However as criminal law is not my specialty I'll have to do some research on the subject unless TC or DM reply. I'll let y'all know what's what when i find out.

Hey gang, It is starting to get to the point where we're (I guess me. LOL) are going to have to start considering all of the business shit in reality that goes hand in hand with what we're up to.

Do we start our own publishing company and hire an accountant? If so, then I like "Money In Perpetuity, Publishing ™" for a name. What do you think, Beach-dog?
Or do we go to a publishing company? And see what we can get from them, money wise.

$35 online file copyright. Should I just put the whole collection as a publication (one book) in my name just for bulk safekeeping? Or would you prefer individual filing at 35 each for your own collection. And then also file © for the book as a compilation as well?

Accounting for IRS and state? And filing. My Lady said she would take charge of everything in her name (She has an accountant already), as some of us are in fixed income requirement situations. It would look funny if we where still getting food stamps, but we were listed as the president of a corporation. If ya see what I mean. Cover yer ass.

We will need a clear name or names for such things as business bank account, IRS tax, State tax, retail sales tax (state, county, city), Visa account, Master card account, Pay Pal connected to the bank account. Real business with Amazon and others. This is just the beginning.

I need to draft author contracts that protect you yet cover the butt of the book.
I need to draft photographer contracts that protect you or photographers yet cover the butt of the book.
I need to draft mutual trade contracts for our connections with other people for the usage of their artwork, photos, Lyrics, or any other types of work, in exchange for inclusion in our book that would include their name address business phone web site, and how to buy from them.

A business charter. Coop or whatever. And file the company with a state. Pick a state.
LLC, S-corporation, Inc. Partnership. So, many questions.

What do you guys think that we should do???

In the simplest terms we need a machine that collects all of the sales, saves some for a first printing, will allot or spend money for any bills or services, does the books (accounting), pays all of the taxes and fees.
Then divvies out each writers piece of the pie. That kind of machine.

Any Thoughts?

Not a lot of time right now as Caleb and Andree (my second son and wife) are heading to Hospital at 10 am to check in for a C-section tommorrow. AND I need to see my Docs at 2 pm.

RE the Publishing: and this is just a thought from Sheila who also is an ALMOST accountant (not a legal CPA but almost one) who has handled HUGE issues re Business/money/and taxes for over 25 years.

Maybe start a Deleware Corp (start off as an S corp and if it blows up convert to a C Corp). The Coporation would allow ALL to become a single entity that all would own as shareholders. That wouild allow all to own the rights to the Publishing/Copyright/Distrubution online sales etc. Also if say like you do a lot of work then you get reimburses from COPORATE funds as would anyone else who becomes a worker BESIDES Shareholder!

If you do this then EVERYONE who contributes storyes can be given STOCK in the Corp as it related to their Story input. Example 10 stories 10 shares with a TOP LIMIT of X percentage no matter how much you write. This way you/G.E./US can control all aspects of the "BOOK PROJECT". Also as more things are added like Mueseum/Pictures/OLD HIPPIE HOME etc the Corp can be the umbrella that also is the entity that all this falls under. Of course doing this means doing the Corporation things like annual shareholder meetings, Board of directors etc..BUT that is really easy can be done online today etc.

We have keep our Corp going for years now and in the MOST EXPENSIVE place to do it CALIFORNIA. BUT this has allowed us to control what we do and whenever we change direction as to what the income stream is we utilize the Corporation to LEGALLY ajust to the needs of the day and the Shareholders (Sheila and I) are able to control the way it works within the LAW.

This also covers the TAX element which can be hugely reduced by utilizing Coporate Law to take advantage of Expensing/Depreciation and dispersion of funds. This also keeps us totally LEGAL as Taxes are figured in and PROFITS can be controlled and dispersed in a multiple of ways to fit the need. Either as Dividends or even payroll.

ALSO IF this truly blows then you/we/the Corp can also get a Medical Plan that all share holders/workers can elect to become part of etc.

Just a thought and if other things happen in future it can ALL be handled through the Coporation for the Benifit of all or even just the few. May sound like this is a cop out to the SYSTEM BUT in fact this is a GREAT way to play the "MANS" game on "HIS /ITS" field utilizing the system for our benifits!! AND The smart way to play in the SYSTEM it to utilize its rules to WIN at their game even tho we are the PLAYERS we control our efforts that way! VA/Benifits/ etc.

Kenny you can be an officer of a Corp and NOT effected any of your brnifits!!! It is ALL about how you take income!!!! Dispersions can be put into many different ways to protect what benifits you recieve. I am on Social Security and I am also a NON PAID officer of the Coporation!! E-mail me as we have faced this issue for 5 years now!!!

OH well just for all to know a Corp can pay expenses for MANY ACTIONS that are not considered Income...YET. Owning Share EVEN if they pay dividends can be adjusted to not effect Living STATUS of the Shareholder!! ESPECIALLY if the taxes are pain by Corp. But this should be understood so all would feel comfortable. I need to really go now LOL LOL

I think my worries were for naught. My research shows that even if you leave the state the Statute of Limitatiions can only be extended for 3 years as long is was a non-capitol expense. I'm hoping to get confirmaiton on this soon.
