Church Operations Business

What is a minister? Maybe in laymen's terms it is someone who councils others that are in need of guidance. Someone who supports with compassion and care, maybe it is someone who has lived and experienced life out of the box and has been in need themselves, someone who has been there and can relate.

I do not use them term 'minister', I see myself as a healer, a messenger a confidante. I look upon each of us as 'ministers' We have a message, we give council to others, we share what we know about what we know.

So, I do agree with Mark, that if you have the desire, a calling to go out and nourish the Spirit with "soul food' and others join you, and you call yourself a church and you meet and share and have fellowship, you are a church.

But there is the other side of the coin. To be tax exempt on a federal level you must go by their rules and regulations. Thus we have affiliated ourselves with the ULC, untill we establish ourselves.. Which I do believe we have done by being state recognized as a Church.

I also believe we can be a minister without the theology school and go with "Life Experience" Being we are non-denominational, we do not have to have a theological degree in any set religious doctrine.

Has anyone else done any studying up on what constitute a church. What I think, is. We already are a legal church and have that status in the state of texas. That right there should be our credentials.

What are some of y'alls thoughts on it

 

yes, we are all one big happy family Just like all families we are here together to help one another and ourselves to be able to come together as a congregation and hold meetings as evidence of us being a church.

We have appointed committees and we hold timely meetings. We have a small but intimate congregation, who are here on a regular basis.

 

Talk about hit and run.. wow.. I sure know how to clear a room.

So, I finally got out to spend $60 on printer cartridges and a reem paper. I just now finally printed our the whole 36 pages of instructions for form 1023, and all 32 pages of form 1023. I've already read their overview 24 pages. Now I need to read and understand all of this and fill it all out. All this while working too. What FUN.

Anyway, We said to the state of Texas that we are the Church of the Good Earth, and independent. I think that it would be totally wrong to tell the I.R.S. the opposite story. That we are ULC. This would be like swearing under penalty of perjury two totally different things. And then signing each one. That would not be good.

We should do IRS as the Church of the Good Earth, (an omni denominational faith and fellowship).

If the IRS forms require more. We and add more. I'll pay for ULC branch membership papers. I'll spring for minister certificates for each of us. I'll pay for their little book for the three of us to each read, and I'll then pay for for a Master's Degree in Theology for each of us.

Whatever the Hell the I.R.S. seems to want.

We'll type up extra sheets of paper to explain exactly that we are a solo and independent church group that has grow as an off shoot of the Universal Life Church. That we are our own Headquarters of our own church.

Together we will figure it all out.
