I’m just neutral at this point. I’m not a climate scientist. I’ve been hearing about Global Warming now known as Climate Change for literally 30 years. Still waiting for the world to end. In the 70s it was Incoming Ice Age Science. I’m more curious about your thoughts on the SIGIL Study, now that people know why I posted it here in Climate Change thread.
That ’70s myth—did climate science really call for a “coming ice age?” This was a case of the media getting it wrong, not the scientists: The study by Radin appears to be inclusive. Nothing there. Now on to your idea that, "if Climate Change IS a real threat, then we need the world’s most powerful Magicians to act as the world’s Battery, using Psychokinesis to activate the Quantum Tunneling required for Nuclear Transmutation at room temperature." First of all what in the world and who are "the world’s most powerful Magicians." In my understanding there is no such thing as magic, as anything that interacts with reality is by definition part of that reality. Magic involves using supernatural incantations (words or actions) to change or influence natural forces. As I said, if you can influence natural forces then you must be interacting with those forces by exerting another natural force upon them, otherwise there can be no interaction; as per Clark's third law: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.[2]" When you run into something inexplicable or seemingly magical, look for a misunderstanding or incomplete scientific understanding of natural law. That being said, there is no such thing as magic (other than stage magic) and no magicians (other than stage magicians). No verifiable Psychokinesis as there is no mind/matter separation and I don't know what a "world battery" is. Therefore magic will not affect the climate in any way.
Next time I’m at the State Library, I will post snapshots of Science books from the 1970s warning about Global Cooling. “The study by Radin appears to be inclusive. Nothing there.“ Can you elaborate like at all? Everything you ranted about afterward has to do with the study. Come on. Give me your views about the study.
I remember the few unusually cool years in the late 60’s and early 70’s. But fears of a coming ice age were tied to a few abnormal years….pseudo science based on conspicuous anecdotes. But the evidence for global warming is not based on cherry picking a few bits information but a plethora of evidence complete with collaborative physical and chemical support.
Au contraire, sir. Pesky old books from an ignored section of the State Library not allowing the internet to entirely Memory-Hole the truth and gaslight the public. Darn books.
Here’s my favorite, and one that I suggested in the archives of this thread: Government Weather Modification. The biggest Conspiracy if there is one.
Textbooks are not peer reviewed scientific papers. The Trouble With Textbooks: Study Exposes the Bias in American Textbooks Truth in Textbooks: Unpacking Bias in Curriculum Staples “The study by Radin appears to be inclusive. Nothing there.“ Before I comment I must say that twice while reading Dean Radin's paper his site has caused my computer to lose its internet connection, requiring a reboot both times. It also altered my time zone setting...and I can no longer leave it on an automatic setting. I will not visit that site again. I am not going to try to deconstruct the experiment, I don't have the expertise to do so. So let's assume that he got, what he considers to be, valid results...where are the peer reviewed replicated experiments that confirm his analysis? The experiment is inconclusive until it is replicated by multiple independent agents. No one experiment proves anything. I was not ranting, I was discussing the nature of magic and reality. Who are these "world’s most powerful Magicians?" How can they alter the climate? Please cite peer reviewed studies from reputable sources that support this notion.
Lowell Ponte is not a climate scientist. Nigel Calder is not a climate scientist. I don't know who or what "Impact Team" is. Howard J. Taubenfiel is not a climate scientist. Have any of these people published scientific papers on climate that have been peer reviewed?
The point was that there WAS a Scientific consensus about Global Cooling in the 1970s. Period. I have two textbooks by String Theorist, Brian Greene and Physicist, Sean Carroll. The first is about String Theory and the second is about Many Worlds. Should I throw these books away just because they’re not peer-reviewed articles?
What a cop-out. I never once had issues with his site. If you want to find the replications you’re gonna have to read the study bro.
It’s ok to admit that the Science was wrong by the way. That’s how Science is supposed to work. But to deny at all that there ever was a consensus about Global Cooling in the 1970s is suspicious as hell and pure gaslighting of the public. But repeat a lie long enough and the masses will tend to believe it.
