I meant to go back and edit my post to say that I wasn't personally putting all of that stuff on her myself but I got tied up with something else. That's just something I read. My first reaction was along the lines of "Hmm....could she really have been responsible for screwing that much up? She wasn't the president. She was just one of the women sleeping with him."

I think she was in more control at that point in time than anyone wants to give her credit for...

I would probably agree. I was just being a smart ass. :) Honestly, I don't think she ever cared about the women....not in the later years anyway. She isn't naive. She probably knew about many of the women and decided it was best to use the situation to her advantage and....if that's true....I can't say I blame her.

It sounded to me like you were asking for feedback about the article rather than endorsing it.

Correct. I remember many of those things but it was a long time ago so I can't say I remember every detail exactly as if it happened last week. The author clearly has his own bias.....justified or not.

I've been giving a bit here and there, whenever I can and the mood strikes me.
It's the first time I've ever donated to a campaign.

My first time voting was also in '08.
And to be honest, I'm more enthusiastic about Bernie than I was about Obama.
Not that I wasn't proud to vote for Obama, Bernie just speaks (in words and action) more to my ideals.

Also, the hope (and by some accounts, expectation) is that a Bernie nomination would result in retaking the Senate and at least making a big dent in the House.

To me, part of what I like about Bernie over Hillary is... you won't get to the moon, if you don't shoot for it.

Just came across the Ben Jealous (former head of the NAACP) endorsement for Bernie:

I Endorse Bernie Sanders for President

Do yourself a favor, whether your a current supporter or not... read that endorsement.
    Definitely worth it.

And yet there was a national poll released one day prior which had Hillary up by a double-digit margin over Sanders.

Well no matter what happens next week; I’ll just be happy if I never see another Jeb Bush TV commercial which locally have been flooding the airwaves for weeks.

He has 10s of millions in his coffers (or war chest) and has been spending every penny of it on advertisement in New Hampshire and in Massachusetts.

He spent a significant amount of money in Iowa too. More than any other candidate on either side (or so I am told). The other day, NPR said that in the end, he spent about $5000 for each person who actually voted for him. Another quote I read put it at $2300 per vote but I generally lean towards NPR over other media outlets.....although I am very close ending my sustaining membership with NPR and spending my money elsewhere.

Was my first campaign contribution too. Bernie also speaks more to my ideals than Obama. I guess I've just become more cynicle in general when it comes to politics. When Obama was first running I was 19 and very naive about the world. Now that I better understand the power of the corporate industrial complex I am just less inspired by politics, as a whole. I'm very inspired by what Bernie promises but I just have a hard time believing he will be able to pull it all off.

I'm all for shooting for the moon but I'm also much more aware of the power the corporate elite has to run the show.

That being said I support Bernie 100% and am so excited for what he stands for. His authenticity is also striking in contrast to Hillary who just radiates phony pandering.

You know what? There is almost no possible way that Bernie can pull off everything he'd like to do. Most of us know that. That isn't what the fight is for. The fight isn't even for us. The fight is for you. We're thinking of what the world will look like after we are gone......and honestly...I never plan on coming back so you guys should feel lucky that I even give a shit about how the world looks for you. I mean that in the best possible way.

The thing with shooting for the moon, even if Bernie gets just some of his plans done, it'll still be better than if Hillary gets all of her plans done.

I just want to say just because the republicans might win if this (and the next) time a big minority votes third party, it really does not makes voting for a third party the same as voting republican AT ALL!
I see it roughly like this: people who are too afraid of the republicans getting in charge for at least 4 years will vote 'the lesser evil' so to say. They're looking at the short term when they decide how to spend their vote. Personally I would take that loss if I were in this political shitpile and let them win if it is like that. It's the democratic system. Voting against the worst candidate and not for the best one (which may be subjective but most seem to agree now that ideally the bernmeister or a third party candidate could ideally represent progressive America better) will not change anything. I rather see change through a repubican president doing bad and then get a lot of people to vote real sensible than just get another lame democrat. There are no certainties, except when US gets Hillary (which most likely means no big change)
I understand for a certain amount of americans 4 years under another republican president may seem like hell but hey in the end it is 'just' 4 years. Do you guys want some progression or not. So let them get you in that place. Otherwise there will be another 20 years of putting the proverbial fingers in the levee.

It's basically like this: a lot of people find Bernie the most reasonable and the ideal candidate (out of the existing options :p). When they don't show their support what in earth do they expect to happen in american politics? People don't wanna be apathetic about politics but they become anyway. Well, can't blame them if they are not even supporting the guy they ideally wish they had in charge... :p

That supporters are doubting he will pull it all off... uhm yeah, very realistic. Does it seem a president has all the power? But do you wanna take a chance and show your support for the most righteous candidate? Then why not do it. It's unlikely things will change for the better with Clinton. If a republican president fucks even more up, progressive change is only more imminent next time (unless of course, the majority of progressive americans would throw their vote in a ditch AGAIN instead of spending it on a candidate that actually stands for their beliefs)

They would get to appoint conservative Supreme Court justices, which are permanent jobs. A key goal for many Republicans is getting enough conservatives on that court to overturn the key ruling that prevents states from banning all abortions. The next liberal President would not be able to easily reverse that.

That 4 years that you say "may seem like hell" would likely put me in a cardboard box under a bridge somewhere... If I can score a cardboard box without getting killed for it.

It's a little bit more severe than "seeming like hell" and much more than "just 4 years"

You don't live here, you don't know how bad it would be for a lot of people...
