Apparently, she gets all the superdelegates. See my post on page 12 about this problem, anyone who doesn't remember. This is not set in stone.
Oh...I know how it works and I also remember you posting about it as well. It's just that many people don't know this and they don't realize that when the media says things like "Hillary is so far ahead nationally...." they don't necessarily mean in the popular vote/polls. The super delegates can change their minds and hopefully they do if Bernie wins the popular vote or.....the next generation of voters (and possibly the next one after that) may just walk away from the Democrats. I wouldn't blame them. I'm personally so disgusted by how the DNC, Hillary and the rest of the establishment has conducted themselves lately that I am not even sure if I will vote for her at this point....whether it looks like she won it fairly or not. I was going to but now....they are an embarrassment.
I guess we need to be spending more time on Facebook and Twitter getting the word out about this problem. Can't be done from HF; not big enough.
Fuck the DNC. The only reason why I've voted for the democrats is because the only choice has been the DNC insider candidate, the RNC insider candidate, or stay home. If there is a viable independent candidate, I'll be happy to flip the DNC the bird. The whole primary has been rigged for HRC. The only way to keep them from shoving their candidate down our throats is to not vote for her in a general election.
FINALLY, NBC News is picking up the superdelegate story: http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/why-sanders-new-hampshire-victory-wasn-t-so-huge-n516066?cid=sm_fb
The last thing anyone needs is ol AL the race baiting pimp! He owes 20m in back taxss, he's black so it's ok. Willie Nelson owed 8m and they jumped his ass asap, and sized all his shit. No problems with the work he has done, just the use of the biggest racist on the planet is not a good selling point. I'm sure they could find an educated with more common sense to take his place. Is Bernie gonna free 'The Juice'? If he takes office? LMFAO
The DNC will be nailing their own casket if Bernie wins the popular vote but loses the nomination. Young people overwhelmingly support Sanders. A lot of these kids in the 18 - 22 age group are voting in a presidential election for the first time in their lives and they're still young enough to be idealistic. They are more idealistic than I was at that age for sure - I had Bush and the Iraq war, they have Bernie fucking Sanders. They'll never forget it if the Democratic Party destroys their idealism. We're talking like 80% of an entire generation turned forever independent. I keep comforting myself with the thought that even if Bernie loses the nomination his momentum is such that he may really alter the face of American politics for decades to come.
I'm actually seeing quite a good number of stories covering this and that kind of surprises me. I figured there would be a few obscure stories here and there but it would mostly go unreported right now. One theory I read is that the DNC wants to get in front of this and get the story out there early in hopes of making people think it won't matter if they vote for Bernie so they will either vote for HC or just not vote....and then the story will just go away later.
Yeah, I've read the same theory. I've also read that superdelegates don't matter because they never go against the popular vote.
Here's a petition to sign. but you agree to get emails from MoveOn. I already get the emails, so I signed anyway. Here's another.
That's a tradition, not a rule. This time, more than half of them have already publicly said they will vote for Hillary no matter what the vote, according to the Associated Press. Party members need to speak up.
This post wasn't a petition that was posted about by Meagain...just so you know! You should definitely sign it though...the one with 130,000+ signatures.
He could do better than associating with Sharpton. Most people realize that Sharpton is nothing more than a promoter. Total fraud.
MSNBC has set up in Columbia SC inside my favorite restaurant and bar downtown. I'm damn tempted to go check it out sometime in the next few weeks and see some of my favorite news people in person. I had forgotten that SC has a split primary; Republicans on the 20th, Democrats on the 27th. Maybe I'll go down there after the GOP has left town.
Democratic debate tonight. Expect Hilary to be over prepared, (Watch for rehearsed mannerisms) and Bernie to just be Bernie. PLEASE watch the debate on PBS, rather than CNN. CNN gets enough ratings and is playing in enough airports to afford the loss. PBS is a great channel overall and could always use the proof to lawmakers that people watch it. Remember what Mitt Romney had in mind...its not beyond pub-pubs to rally for shutting it down. Peace.
They've been trying for years to defund PBS. They also tried a slick move on Pacifica out of the Bay area. They tried to sell it, but were stopped by listeners, basically. They got rid of the fairness doctrine so that their right wing blow-holes could say anything about anybody without recourse. I know that it worked , because I listened to an extreme right wing station in Hawaii during the Viet Nam war. They got their license jerked for being so outrageously to the right without allowing any responses. Sound familiar?
