I think its always been like that, or at least it's been like that for a while.

DNC and RNC pick their insider candidate to serve their agenda, and maybe offer some lip service or a few crumbs to win your vote. Then your choice is to vote for tweedledee or tweedledum, or stay home.

It's just a little more obvious this year how rigged the system is.

I'm sure there's plenty of people who legit don't like bernie, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is a pr firm or two out there posting astroturf comments online.

Ugh right? I know she is running for president, not the Queen of England, so her style shouldn't matter...but still, I have always loved a lady with a good sense of style. Mrs. Obama should take her shopping.

I definitely think you're right about that

Anywho, I figured I could offer my opinion about the debate instead of just being bitchy about Hillary's wardrobe choices..

I thought Hillary was more of the same - meagain's assessment above is pretty spot on. A lot of the time I feel like she just rambles and I have a hard time paying attention. I know she does it to dominate the clock but I feel like with an opponent like Bernie it would work more to her advantage to offer clear concise answers. He has no problem getting his point across quickly so she isn't putting him at a disadvantage by rambling on and using as much time as she can.

She comes across as strong on women's rights. Everything else is always pretty meh to me with her.

I don't know what kinda stunt she is trying to pull with portraying bernie as staunchly anti-Obama but I agree with him that it is a low blow. Very childish politics.

I thought this was one of Bernie's stronger debates. He came across as very sincere when speaking of African American rights and immigration policy. I loved when he berned Hillary for suggesting we discourage Latin and South Americans from taking dangerous journeys to the US. His foreign policy was very strong too and he did a great job at illustrating his ability to use the US's past foreign policy blunders to understand how our current policy will effect the future dynamics of the international community.

Did anyone notice Hillary furiously crossing something out on her paper when he brought up Kissinger??

I loved the first skit on SNL! Kate McKinnon (as Hillary) sang the old Bonnie Raitt classic "I Can't Make You Love Me If You Don't" to Bernie fans!

Bill Clinton seriously pissed me off yesterday by attacking Sanders supporters, comparing us to Tea Party nutcases, hurting the party by being too extreme. WTF is he thinking? Hillary is running against Bernie, not his supporters. I've always liked Bill, but if he wants to play this way, he can go fuck himself.

You know how it is---say and do anything to continue slopping at the public trough. Same ol' folks doing the same ol' things. However , with the batch of INTRACTABLE right-wing pricks , neither Clinton or Sanders will be able to get much done. I really, really hope that it turns out I'm wrong. I contributed to Bernie today--first time contributing.

    Good for you! :cheers2:

Now we need to get a lot of people involved in Senate and House races. Let's get Bernie some help.

Hot damn, there's been a bunch of posts I couldn't Like (ran into my daily quota).
That'll teach me to go missing while a couple pages worth of stuff builds up!

Y'know... I'm wondering how many first time campaign contributors are above 30 or 40 years old.
We're always hearing about how Bernie is getting a lot of first timers and how they're young.
Now I wish I had my blog up and running, I would've gone and worked on a story about older first timers.

Maybe I should work like a crazy person for the next couple days/week.
I'm gonna have to keep this whole thing in mind, maybe it'll light a fire under my butt.
Especially if I can get it done before Super Tuesday.

There's just a lot more that has to get done before I can even touch the blog.
    But... it's possible.

Ok, done brain storming out loud now.

    um..

    Let's Get Berned!

So apparently republicans are making it clear they don't want another Bush, and democrats are starting to realize they don't want another Clinton. Maybe there is a little hope for the future.

I JUST VOTED FOR BERNIE SANDERS

I changed my registration from Independent to Democrat just so I could vote for Sanders in the Florida primary.

Got my Absentee Ballot and just voted.

And since I am a registered Dem, they are always asking me for contributions. I am pissed at the Democratic National Committee (and Debbie Wasserman Shultz) for stacking the campaign in support of Clinton, such as scheduling few debates and those on slow TV days & times. This benefits someone with name recognition like Hilary Clinton and is bad for a nationally unknown person like Bernie Sanders. And now I find out our Super Delegates do not have to follow the democratic vote but can switch to the less popular candidate.

So, as I have vowed to do with all these donation letters that come in self-addressed, postage paid return envelopes is to use them to let the DNC know that some of us are pissed at their bias.

After the election I am changing my registration back to Independent.

I could swear I posted the gif I made for Sanders here, but I can't find it now.
But, I made an updated version that basically adds the Bernie logo at the end.

Please feel free to post this anywhere you please... Twitter, Facebook, whatever...

Bernie is holding a rally here tomorrow. I am dragging my mom to it even though she supports Hillary.

He is holding it in a big arena like in the gif above but I think he'll be lucky to fill the floor level. Most people around here are very right leaning.

Although, I wouldn't be surprised if he does fill it anyway.
    He's magic like that. :)

And if you're mom is siding with Hillary for electability reasons (which seems to be the most popular reason), maybe show her all the polls that show Bernie would win against Republicans.
I don't mean find the polls that show that, I mean... any polls at all, they all show the same thing, Bernie would win against any Republican, Hillary... not so much.

Don't you live in SC? What's it like there right now, with the primaries going on? We don't typically get any presidential candidates campaigning around here since we are pretty small and not a swing state by any means, plus a later primary. I'd like to go see Bernie, but it would probably be quite the hike.

Pretty quiet actually. I haven't really seen or talked to anyone canvassing door to door. There are political signs everywhere, mostly for Cruz and Trump but I have seen a few for Bernie. I haven't seen a single Hillary sign nor do I really know anyone except my mom who supports her.

Donald Trump held a rally in my town last week on the same night we had severe black ice on the roads and over 200 wrecks and several fatalities. I didn't hear much about his rally, I think the traffic conditions probably rained on his parade a good bit.

The republican primaries are today and the democratic primary is held a week later. I was out driving earlier and noticed polling places are packed today. The democratic primary won't have the same turn out next week.

Good bit of action in Columbia. Do you have access to MSNBC? They have a good number of people down there, operating out of a temporary headquarters in my favorite Columbia restaurant and bar.

They sent Andrea Mitchell and Chuck Todd to Vegas to cover Nevada's Democratic caucus there today. Polling in Nevada is not very good, so nobody really knows what the outcome is likely to be.

Hillary will leave Nevada with something like 15 more delegates than Bernie. On to SC; primary one week from today.
