http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/first-take-clinton-win-halts-sanders-momentum-as-battle-heads-to-southern-races/ar-BBpKJ7v?li=BBnb7Kz Hillary Clinton’s victory in Nevada halts the momentum of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who trounced her earlier this month in New Hampshire, and the win may begin a streak as the battle heads to a series of southern-voting states that favor her. The decisive outcome, as opposed to her narrowest of victories in Iowa, mirrors her successful margin over then-Sen. Barack Obama in 2008. Saturday's win came as a result of a strong ground operation that’s been in place since early last year and reflects her strength with the state’s sizable minority populations. Recent polling had showed the two running neck-and-neck. Bolstered by strong support from unions and an exhaustive effort targeting Latinos and other minorities, Clinton accomplished something she failed to do in New Hampshire’s Feb. 9 primary. She overcame the enthusiasm of young voters and working-class whites responding to Sanders’ message about a “rigged economy” and income inequality. “Some may have doubted us, but we never doubted each other,” Clinton said appearing at a victory party with her supporters at Caesar’s Palace. In a gesture to the young voters who’ve been behind Sanders, Clinton said she would soon propose an “exciting” national service program. She also cited the water crisis in Flint, Michigan, her commitment to cracking down on Wall Street and the need to break down “every barrier that holds you back.” “The fight goes on, the future we want is within our grasp,” said Clinton. I just hope her decisive win wasn't due to decisive cheating. I don't mean to suggest Hillary was part of, or even knew of, cheating going on... but it was happening at multiple locations. I honestly don't think Hillary is responsible for these actions, but it would be nice if she publicly denounced them. Like when her supporters were caught impersonating the National Nurses United Union: Clinton’s Campaign Just Got Busted Impersonating Union Nurses in Nevada Or when supporters allowed a bunch of people to caucus without registering, saying "they will register after". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ug9hHe_iZg
I like Sanders better but socialism can be a slippery slope to communism which is a slipperry slope to potential tyranny. Not scared of Sanders himself, I love Sanders but I just can't get with socialism. Hopefully he's a true democratic liberal not a socialist.
I went to Bernie's rally tonight, the turn out was 5000+ people which was more than I expected. It was a really good experience and a great crowd. Nice to see not everyone around here is a trump supporter. Bernie's campaign slogan should be "Make America Sane Again"
Most countries are socialist in some form or another, even America. And every form of government (not that socialism is a form of government, it is an economic system) has the potential for tyranny. You know what I find sad about the vitriol Sanders is catching (not directed at you, your post wasn't vitriolic) for claiming himself a socialist? It shows that America is still dealing with the effects of the red scare over half a century later.

If an activist gets arrested fighting for racial civil rights but is not seen by John Lewis - does it still count?
Here are a few socialist programs in the U.S. The military...the largest socialist program in the world. Public highways. Public libraries. Public law enforcement. Public and volunteer fire departments. U.S. Postal service. Student loans. Public bridges and tunnels. Public landfills. Farm subsides. CIA. FBI. Congressional healthcare. Polio vaccine given to the government by Jonas Salk. EPA. Social security. Public museums. Public schools. Government prisons. Corporate subsidies. The VA. Public parks. Elected government officials. Public sewer systems. Medicare. The court system. Bird flu vaccine. G.I.Bill. Public zoos. IRS. School lunch programs. Medicaid. FDA. 911 health care aid. Swine flu vaccine. Disability insurance. Corporate bailouts. Unemployment insurance. PBS. CDC. FEMA. OSHA. Peace Corp. And so on....look here for more. ..going to hell.
Bernie Sanders is where I want the country to be going. Sorry, I don't think a CEO should be making 325X his lowest employee, nor do I think that people who work 40 hours a week should have to subsidize their existence with government benefits because the corporations don't want to pay a living wage. Not everyone is born into or has the capacity for greatness. That doesn't mean we, as a society, should just them die.
Bernie is the only one that wants to end the war on drugs and legalize marijuana. The drug war cost our country billions a year for locking up people and then throwing them out on the street and not rehabilitation them.None of the other candidates are even mentioning this.
But--but-but--MeAgain---socialized medicine!?!?!---You know that real Americans aren't gonna' fall for THAT dirty commie idea. In addition , we're just not as smart as the Netherlands, France, Britain, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, MEXICO and all those other commie countries. Give it up. Why, we have the finest medical coverage in the world--'cuz someone said so.
